We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up our dear brother or sister who is battling both physical illness and spiritual oppression. Father God, we know that You are the Great Physician and the Mighty Warrior who fights on our behalf. We stand in the gap for this precious one, declaring Your power and authority over every sickness and every demonic force.
First, we pray for complete healing from this stubborn cold and flu. Lord, Your Word tells us in Psalm 103:2-3, "Praise Yahweh, my soul, and don’t forget all his benefits, who forgives all your sins, who heals all your diseases." We claim this promise over our brother/sister’s life. We rebuke this illness in the name of Jesus, commanding it to leave and not return. Strengthen their body, Lord, and restore them to full health. May they feel Your healing touch in every cell, every breath, and every part of their being.
We also come against the demonic forces that are harassing them. The enemy has no right to torment Your children, and we take authority over every spirit of fear, oppression, and stalking. Jesus said in Luke 10:19, "Behold, I give you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy. Nothing will in any way hurt you." We bind these demons in the name of Jesus, commanding them to leave and never return. We cast them into the abyss, where they belong, and we seal this brother/sister in the blood of Jesus. No weapon formed against them will prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment will be condemned (Isaiah 54:17).
Father, we ask that You surround them with Your angels, as it says in Psalm 91:11, "For he will put his angels in charge of you, to guard you in all your ways." Let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). Fill them with Your Holy Spirit, reminding them that they are never alone, for You are with them always.
We also encourage this dear one to stand firm in their faith. Put on the full armor of God daily—truth, righteousness, the gospel of peace, faith, salvation, and the Word of God (Ephesians 6:10-18). Resist the devil, and he will flee (James 4:7). Walk in the authority You have given us as believers, knowing that greater is He who is in us than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4).
If there has been any unconfessed sin or areas where the enemy has gained a foothold, we pray for conviction and repentance. Forgive us, Lord, for any way we have opened the door to the enemy, and cleanse us by the blood of Jesus. Close every door that should not be open, and let Your light drive out all darkness.
We declare that this season of sickness and oppression is coming to an end. We speak life, health, and freedom over our brother/sister. May they rise up in the strength of the Lord, walking in the fullness of the victory that Christ has already won on the cross. We thank You, Father, for hearing our prayer and for Your faithfulness to answer. In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
