We come before the Lord with you in this time of need, lifting up your heart’s cry for peace in your home. The struggles you describe are heavy, and we know the Lord sees the pain and longing for change in your family. The Bible reminds us in Proverbs 22:6, *"Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it."* While this verse speaks to the responsibility of parents, it also reveals God’s heart for families to walk in His ways. Yet, we also know that each person is accountable for their own choices, and no one can force another to change—only God can transform a heart.

We must gently but firmly address something important: your prayer does not invoke the name of Jesus Christ, through whom we have access to the Father. The Scriptures are clear that there is no other name by which we can be saved or through which our prayers are heard. Jesus Himself said in John 14:6, *"I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me."* And in John 16:23, He tells us, *"Most certainly I tell you, whatever you may ask of the Father in my name, he will give it to you."* If you have not yet placed your faith in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so, for He alone can bring true peace—not just in your home, but in your heart. Salvation comes through repentance and belief in Him (Acts 4:12, Romans 10:9). If you have already trusted in Christ, we encourage you to pray *in His name*, for it is through Him that our requests reach the Father.

Now, regarding the situation at home, we understand the deep sorrow of seeing a loved one trapped in behaviors that bring harm and strife. Drunkenness and disrespect are not only destructive to relationships but are also clearly condemned in Scripture. Ephesians 5:18 warns, *"Don’t be drunken with wine, in which is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit."* And Exodus 20:12 commands, *"Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land which Yahweh your God gives you."* Disobedience and rebellion against parents are serious matters in God’s eyes, and we must pray for conviction and repentance.

Yet, we also recognize that change begins with prayer and a heart surrendered to God. While you are asking the Lord to "control" your loved one, we must remember that God has given each person free will. Our role is to pray for their heart to be softened, for the Holy Spirit to work in them, and for you to walk in wisdom, love, and boundaries that honor God. You cannot change this person, but God can. Your prayers are powerful, and we join you in lifting this need before the Throne of Grace.

Let us also consider whether there are areas in your own life where the Lord may be calling you to respond differently. Are there ways you can demonstrate Christ’s love while still upholding godly standards? Colossians 3:12-14 reminds us, *"Put on therefore, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, a heart of compassion, kindness, lowliness, humility, and perseverance; bearing with one another, and forgiving each other... Above all these things, walk in love, which is the bond of perfection."* This does not mean enabling sinful behavior, but it does mean responding in a way that reflects Christ’s heart.

We also encourage you to seek support from your local church or a trusted, mature believer who can walk alongside you in this trial. Isolation can make burdens feel heavier, but God did not design us to carry them alone. Galatians 6:2 tells us, *"Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ."*

Now, let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this dear sister and her family. Lord, You see the brokenness, the strife, and the pain in this home, and You alone can bring true peace. We ask You to intervene in the heart of this loved one who is struggling with drunkenness and rebellion. Father, convict him by Your Holy Spirit. Soften his heart and turn him away from the path of destruction. Let him see the harm his actions are causing and lead him to repentance. Break the strongholds of alcohol and bitterness in his life, and replace them with Your peace and joy.

Lord, we also pray for this mother who is crying out to You. Give her strength, wisdom, and discernment. Help her to respond in a way that honors You, setting godly boundaries while still showing love. Protect her heart from bitterness or despair, and fill her with Your hope. Surround this family with Your presence, and let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).

Father, we ask that You would restore this home. Bring unity where there is division, joy where there is sorrow, and obedience where there is rebellion. Let Your Word be a lamp to their feet and a light to their path (Psalm 119:105). And Lord, if there is any sin or stronghold in this family that needs to be addressed, reveal it and bring healing.

We thank You, Father, that You are a God who hears and answers prayer. We trust in Your power to transform lives and restore what is broken. May Your will be done in this family, and may Your name be glorified through their story. In the precious and mighty name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.

We're standing with you, dear one, as you cry out for peace at home. We feel your pain and the longing for change in your family. Let's cling to the promise in Psalm 147:3, "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." God sees your tears and hears your prayers.

We're reminded of the power of persistent prayer in Luke 18:1, "Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up." Let's keep lifting this need before the Lord, asking Him to intervene in your loved one's heart, to soften it and turn them away from destructive paths.

Let's also remember to trust in God's sovereignty. He is in control, and He loves your family more than you could ever imagine. He has a purpose in all things, and even in the midst of struggle, He is working for your good (Romans 8:28).

We're here for you, praying alongside you, believing in the power of Jesus' name to bring healing and restoration to your home. Keep trusting, keep praying, and keep hoping, for our God is faithful. "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." (Psalm 34:18)

I prayed that God in Jesus' name will answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God Loves You. Thank You Jesus!!!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
