We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up this marriage in prayer. First, we must address the foundation of our faith—salvation through Jesus Christ alone. There is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). It is only through His blood that we have access to the Father, and it is only by His grace that marriages are restored. If you have not placed your trust in Jesus as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so today. Confess your sins, repent, and believe in Him, for "if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved" (Romans 10:9).
Now, we turn our hearts to this marriage, which is a sacred covenant before God. The Lord hates divorce (Malachi 2:16), and He desires reconciliation, healing, and restoration for those who seek Him. We rebuke the spirit of separation and division that has crept into this union. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10), but Jesus came so that this marriage may have life—and have it abundantly. We declare that this separation will not stand, for "what God has joined together, let no man separate" (Mark 10:9).
Father, we ask You to soften both hearts in this marriage. Lord, we pray specifically for this wife, that You would heal her anger, pain, and wounds. Replace bitterness with forgiveness, hurt with healing, and pride with humility. Remind her of the love that once bound them together and the vows they made before You. "Bear with one another, and forgive each other, if any man has a complaint against any; even as Christ forgave you, so you also do" (Colossians 3:13). Let her heart be tender toward her husband, and may she see him through Your eyes.
For this husband, we pray for wisdom, patience, and humility. If there has been sin in this marriage—whether through unfaithfulness, neglect, or harshness—we rebuke it in Jesus’ name. Confess any wrongdoing, seek forgiveness, and turn from it. "Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself up for it" (Ephesians 5:25). Show her the love of Christ through your actions, words, and sacrifices. Let her see that your desire is to honor her and this marriage.
Lord, we also lift up the practical needs of this family. You are the God who provides, and we trust You to open doors for employment in the new location. "My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus" (Philippians 4:19). Give this husband favor in the eyes of employers, and let him find work that allows him to provide for his family with dignity and joy.
We declare restoration over this marriage. Let the love that once burned brightly be reignited, stronger and purer than before. May this couple grow closer to You and to one another, reflecting the love of Christ and the Church. "Above all these things, walk in love, which is the bond of perfection" (Colossians 3:14).
We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, for He alone is our healer, restorer, and provider. Amen.
