Praying for Healing

Disciple of Prayer
I am asking for prayer for mental illness and good health. It has been in my family line for years, and no one has received a healing from this. I am asking for my ###-year-old child, who has autism and the same mental illness I have, to be delivered as well. Thank you and have a blessed day.

We come before the Lord with you in this time of deep need, lifting up your heart’s cry for healing and deliverance from the generational bondage of mental illness. The Word of God assures us that Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8), and that by His stripes, we *are* healed (Isaiah 53:5, 1 Peter 2:24). Though this affliction has lingered in your family line, we declare that the power of God is greater than any curse or inheritance of brokenness. The Lord is not limited by what has been—He is the God who breaks chains and sets captives free!

We also lift up your precious child, who bears the weight of both autism and mental illness. Our hearts ache with yours, yet we stand firmly on the promise that children are a heritage from the Lord (Psalm 127:3), and He cares deeply for their well-being. Jesus Himself said, *"Let the little children come to me, and don’t hinder them, for the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to such as these"* (Matthew 19:14). We ask the Lord to stretch forth His hand and touch your child with His healing power, renewing their mind and bringing peace where there has been turmoil. May His Spirit move mightily to bring clarity, comfort, and restoration—not just for your child, but for your entire family line, breaking every generational stronghold in the name of Jesus.

Yet as we pray, we must also remind you—and ourselves—that healing does not always come in the way or timing we expect. The apostle Paul, though he pleaded with the Lord three times for relief from his thorn in the flesh, was met with these words: *"My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness"* (2 Corinthians 12:9). Sometimes, the Lord’s strength is most evident in our dependence on Him, even amid ongoing struggle. If healing tarries, we pray you will cling to His grace, trusting that He is working all things together for good (Romans 8:28). He has not abandoned you, and He will never leave you nor forsake you (Deuteronomy 31:6).

We also encourage you to seek godly counsel and support, whether through your church, biblical counseling, or trusted believers who can walk alongside you. Mental illness can be isolating, but you are not alone—the body of Christ is called to bear one another’s burdens (Galatians 6:2). If medication or therapy is part of your journey, we pray the Lord will guide you to wise and compassionate professionals who can provide help while pointing you to Him.

Most importantly, we must address that your request did not invoke the name of Jesus Christ, through whom *all* prayers must be offered to the Father. There is no other name under heaven by which we are saved (Acts 4:12), and it is only through Jesus that we have access to the throne of grace (Hebrews 4:16). If you have not yet surrendered your life to Him, we urge you to do so today. Confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and you *will* be saved (Romans 10:9). Without faith in Christ, there is no true healing—only temporary relief. But in Him, there is eternal hope, both for this life and the next.

Now, let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up this beloved sister and her child. Lord, You are the Great Physician, the One who heals all our diseases (Psalm 103:3). We ask You to break the generational curse of mental illness that has plagued this family line. By the blood of Jesus, we command every spirit of infirmity, oppression, and confusion to flee, and we declare *total* healing and deliverance in the name of Jesus Christ.

Lord, we ask for Your healing touch upon this child. You knit them together in their mother’s womb (Psalm 139:13), and You know every challenge they face. We pray for supernatural peace to guard their heart and mind (Philippians 4:7), for wisdom for those who care for them, and for breakthroughs in their development and well-being. May Your Spirit move in ways that surpass human understanding, bringing restoration and joy where there has been struggle.

Father, we also ask for strength and endurance for this mother. Comfort her in her weariness, remind her of Your love, and surround her with Your people who can offer support and encouragement. Help her to cast all her anxieties on You, knowing You care for her (1 Peter 5:7).

Lord, if there is any area of unbelief, fear, or bitterness in her heart, we ask You to reveal it and uproot it. Fill her instead with Your hope and trust in Your perfect plan. And if there are any open doors in her life or her family’s life—whether through sin, unforgiveness, or occult involvement—that have given the enemy a foothold, we pray You would expose it and lead her to repentance and freedom.

We thank You, Father, that You are at work, even when we cannot see it. We trust You, not just for healing, but for Your presence, which is our greatest comfort. May Your will be done, and may Your name be glorified in this situation.

In the powerful and holy name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.

Stand firm, dear sister. The Lord hears your prayers, and He is moving on your behalf. Keep seeking Him, keep trusting Him, and do not lose heart. *"The Lord is close to the brokenhearted, and saves those who are crushed in spirit"* (Psalm 34:18). We are praying with you and for you. May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him (Romans 15:13).

Healed Spirit Soul And Body

We want to thank you for allowing us the sacred honor of lifting your family before the Lord in prayer these past few days. It is our privilege to stand with you in agreement, crying out to our Heavenly Father for healing, deliverance, and the breaking of generational strongholds in your bloodline. We know the weight of carrying this burden—not just for yourself, but for your precious child—and we have been interceding with earnest hearts, asking God to move in power where medicine and human effort fall short.

If the Lord has begun to answer, even in small ways, we would love to rejoice with you. Sometimes healing unfolds gradually, like the gentle breaking of dawn, and we want to celebrate every glimmer of hope. Has there been a moment of peace that wasn’t there before? A shift in your child’s spirit or a newfound strength in your own heart? Share it with us so we can give God the glory together.

If the battle still rages and the answer hasn’t yet come, do not lose heart. We are here to continue contending with you in faith. Post your request again, and we will gather around you once more, trusting that our God—who hears the cries of His children—is working even when we cannot see. Generational curses do not stand a chance against the blood of Jesus and the power of persistent prayer. We believe for complete restoration, for your mind, your body, and your child’s future.

Let us also remind you that you are not alone in this. The enemy may whisper that this struggle will never end, but we declare over you the truth of Scripture: *"The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit"* (Psalm 34:18). Keep seeking Him, even in the waiting. Keep clinging to Jesus, who bore every sickness and sorrow on the cross so that you and your child could walk in freedom.

We are praying for you still. May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, and may He overflow your heart with confidence in His promises. Do not grow weary in doing good, for at the proper time, you *will* reap a harvest if you do not give up. We love you, and we are standing with you in faith. Always in Jesus Name.
