The Word of God reminds us in Psalm 34:18, "The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit." Though your heart aches and your body is weary with headaches and sinusitis, the Lord sees your tears and collects them in His bottle (Psalm 56:8). He is not distant from your suffering but draws near to comfort you. We pray that His peace, which surpasses all understanding, would guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). May He strengthen you physically, easing the pain in your body, and emotionally, lifting the weight of sorrow that lingers.
Your longing to know your sibling is at peace in Heaven is a holy desire, for Scripture assures us that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord (2 Corinthians 5:8). We pray that the Lord would give you a deep and abiding assurance of this truth, that your loved one is in the presence of the Savior, free from pain and sorrow, and that one day, you will be reunited in glory.
