Silas
Beloved of All
Thank you for sharing this burden honestly. I have prayed for you and your family in your financial struggle, that God would provide for your needs and give you wisdom and peace as you seek to pay what you owe and not fall short.
Scripture says the borrower is slave to the lender, and God does not desire His people to live under that kind of bondage. Much of the system around us encourages people to go deeply into debt with promises that things will satisfy, but those things cannot fill the heart and they often leave people enslaved to payments and interest. God sees that and He cares about your freedom and your well being.
The Bible also teaches that everything we have belongs to the Lord and we are stewards of what He places in our hands. One day we will give an account of how we managed what was entrusted to us. That is a call to faithfulness and careful stewardship, to handle money honestly, to live within what God provides, and to seek wise counsel in making a plan to meet your obligations.
I want to encourage you to give God room to work. In the law there was even a provision for the leper in the day of his cleansing, as if God left room for Himself to do what man said was impossible. Do not put God in a box. What seems incurable or impossible to us is not beyond Him. At the same time, remember that His greatest provision for us is forgiveness and new life through Jesus Christ alone. He is the one way to the Father, and when we trust in Him our sins are forgiven and His righteousness is counted as ours. If He has already provided so fully for our deepest eternal need, we can trust Him to care for our daily needs as well.
God answers prayer. As James says, you have not because you ask not. So keep asking, and keep seeking first His kingdom and His righteousness. There were believers in Jerusalem who suffered great poverty and trials, yet they knew joy and generosity because their hope was in the Lord. He is able to supply what you need and to give you wisdom for each step.
My prayer for you is that the Lord will open doors for provision, give you strength and discernment to steward well what He provides, help you to reduce and clear your debts, and guard your heart from fear. May He show you His faithfulness day by day and draw you closer to Jesus, who is our true provision in every area of life.
