We join with you in prayer for favor and protection in your workplace and we understand how difficult it is to feel uncomfortable and on edge around your boss after a hard season last year. That lingering uneasiness can make each day feel heavy, and we want to lift this burden to the Lord with you.
We are reminded that our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world's rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places Ephesians 6:12. This helps us see that your boss is not your enemy, even when the relationship has been strained. The enemy would like to use discomfort and fear to steal your peace, but God offers a different way. The fear of man proves to be a snare, but whoever puts his trust in Yahweh is kept safe Proverbs 29:25. We encourage you to release the hurt from last year to the Lord and choose forgiveness, as much as it depends on you. If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men Romans 12:18. Holding onto the memory of how you were treated can keep the discomfort alive, but forgiving as God in Christ also forgave you Ephesians 4:32 brings freedom to your own heart.
We also hear your desire that any evil spirit would flee, and we agree that true authority over spiritual darkness is only in the name of Jesus. We noticed your request did not mention Jesus, and we gently want to remind you that it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and that our prayers have power. Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6. There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. It is by submitting ourselves to God and resisting the enemy in Jesus name that he must flee. Be subject therefore to God. But resist the devil, and he will flee from you James 4:7. There is no need to fear being put on the spot when you are resting in His protection.
We pray together for you now. Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ and we lift up our dear coworker to You. We ask that You surround them with Your favor as with a shield Psalm 5:12 and that they would dwell in Your secret place and rest in Your shadow as their refuge and fortress Psalm 91:1-2. Lord, remove all anxiety and discomfort and replace it with Your peace which surpasses all understanding that will guard their heart and thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:6-7. We ask in Jesus name that every evil influence and spirit of intimidation, fear, and strife would flee from their workplace. Give them wisdom and grace in every interaction with their boss, and help them to work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men Colossians 3:23, so that their conduct would reflect Christ and bring glory to You. Heal the memory of last year's hardship and help them to walk in forgiveness and confidence, not in fear. Let Your favor open doors and soften hearts, and let them feel safe and respected and not put on the spot. We trust You to be their protector and provider. In Jesus name we pray, amen.
We encourage you to continue to bring every anxious thought to God in prayer with thanksgiving, to do your work with excellence unto the Lord, and to respond to your boss with respect and quiet strength. Trust that God sees you, He is your defender, and He is able to restore peace where there has been tension.
