Praying for Courage & Light

I'd like to begin with gratitude. I come here when I find myself looking for the hurt and confused parts within me to reconcile with the quiet faith that I have held and continue to hold close despite moments of pain. I am being pulled into the middle of what seems like a very calculated and an extremely cruel spat between two people- two parents who have been dragging their children into what seems like a vicious marital spat. My heart goes out to these two children and I have tried to help one of them study for their exams for a brief while. I did not understand and do not understand the unsettling sense of insensitivity with which the two children have been forced to shape their lives around the said chaos. Besides praying for them from a distance, Ive not been able to do anything else. Im now being asked to partake in the now escalated parental battle. I want to be kind. I want to be present with my own personal journey full of health mishaps and treatments amidst this unfortunate test of life. I want be brave enough to remain calm and come through unscathed. I want to be able to remain unfettered by the bullies and their ways. I want to crawl quietly back to myself and do more of whaf Ive been.

Thank you for opening your heart here with such honesty and gratitude. We hear how much you care for those children, and also how heavy it feels to be pulled toward a conflict that is not yours to carry, especially while you are walking through your own health treatments and trying to stay steady in your own life.

Wanting to be kind without getting drawn into the middle is a wise desire. One way we have seen people protect both kindness and peace is by thinking of boundaries as a kind of property line, what is yours to own and what is not. You can care and pray for the children from a distance without taking a side in the parents' battle, and it is okay to say so plainly and kindly.

It may help to decide ahead of time on a simple response you can use if you are pressed to participate, something like, I care about the children and I am not able to be involved in disagreements between their parents. Having those words ready can make it easier to stay calm in the moment and return to the quiet work you want to do for your own health and life.

We are glad you are getting care for your health and we encourage you to stay closely connected to your medical team as stress rises, alongside prayer. Resilience is not something you either have or do not have, it grows through small learned choices, supported by faith and by at least one supportive relationship, and you are already practicing it by noticing what restores you and wanting to return to it.

Father, we bring our friend to You in Jesus' name. Give calm courage for each conversation, wisdom to know when to step back, and light for the next faithful step. Guard health and restore quiet strength day by day. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

🙏Prayer Focus: God, Thank You for loving me. Thank You for loving me, Jesus. God, I ask You in Jesus’ name please bless me with everything that I stand in need of and everything You want me to have. God bless me to prosper, walk in excellent health, and never stop growing in the love, grace, wisdom, and knowledge of Christ Jesus. God bless me to know You in truth, fall in love with You with all my heart, mind, soul, body, and strength and never fall out of love with You. God, bless me to have an ever growing closer stronger, more intimate relationship with You. Bless me with the love, desire, strength, and the spirit of obedience to always delight myself in You, seek first Your kingdom, Your righteousness, and to always respect and obey You. Bless me to know You, the way You want me to know You. So that I will trust You with my life and anyway that You move in my life. Bless me to trust You with all my heart, lean not to my own understanding, acknowledge You in all my ways, and allow You to direct my footsteps and actions. Bless me with knowledge, wisdom, and understanding in all You have called me to do.

God heal me in every area of my life. Deliver and cleanse me of everything in my life that doesn't honor You. Transform and renew my mind. Bless me with love, power, and a sound mind. Let the mind that is in Christ Jesus be in me. Bless me to have and operate with a God-conscious-solution-focused-heart-mind-spirit-and-attitude. Bless me to have a God Kingdom Culture Mentality. God be with me as a mighty warrior. Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul. God, all that I have asked of You, in this prayer, please do the same for the writer of the prayer, all those who love and care about me, and all those I love and care about. God, please forever honor this prayer over each of our lives. God Thank You. Amen, so be it by faith, and by faith, it is so. Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

There is a tender honesty in your prayer, and gratitude is a fitting place to begin, for it shows that faith, though quiet, is still alive within you. You speak of hurt and confused parts seeking to be reconciled with that quiet faith, and of a desire to be kind and brave while health and trial press upon you. This is not a small thing, and the Lord who sees in secret marks it.

You have been grieved, and rightly so, by two children made to shape their lives around the chaos of their parents' strife. To have helped one of them, even briefly, in study, and to have prayed for them from a distance, is not nothing. Never think that prayer from a distance is a powerless thing. When a man can talk with God as his covenant God, every arrow sticks in the centre of the target. The Lord hears the prayer offered in secret, and He who is the God of hope can fill those children with joy and peace in believing, even when their home knows little peace. Continue to bear them before the throne of grace, for that is the best help you can give where you cannot order their circumstances.

Now you feel drawn into the escalated battle itself, and you desire to remain calm, unscathed, unfettered by those who would bully and use you. Here is wisdom from the example of Daniel. He sustained the energy of his outward profession by constant secret communion with God, and when an unjust edict was passed, he did not hide his faith nor seek a quarrel, but he openly went his way as before and prayed before his God. So let it be with you. You need not oppose outward falsehood with inward truth only, but with a quiet, distinct avowal of your own convictions. To tread in His footsteps wherever He goes, to be much with Him whether in private or public, this is your strength. You need not be drawn into every controversy. As our Lord said to the woman, Your faith has saved you, go in peace. Sometimes strength is to sit still, and sometimes to leave the place of controversy and go in peace, for the joy of the Lord shall be your strength.

You say you want to be brave and to come through unscathed, to crawl quietly back to yourself and do more of what you have been doing. Let me gently turn that desire a little higher. Our business is not with self, but with Christ. Perfect peace is not found by staying within ourselves, but by having the mind stayed upon Him because we trust in Him. You will keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on You. Leave your sorrow with Jesus. Bear your sorrow with Him and for Him, and you shall enjoy peace even with sorrows surging round. Your health mishaps and treatments are known to Him who never faints nor is weary, and they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength. A man apart from God sees his strength dry up, but a man with God in him makes hell tremble. Wait upon Him, not with a hurried minute in the morning only, but with often slipping aside to get a word with Him in the midst of the day, and He will renew you.

You also confess the difficulty of remaining kind when surrounded by insensitivity and cruelty. Our Master continually connects forgiveness with faith, and tells us to overcome evil with good and to forgive seventy times seven. No man can pray successfully while he is in an unforgiving frame of mind. This is a hard saying, and you rightly feel you cannot bear it in your own strength. Increase of faith is needed for such peace principles. Pray then as the apostles did, Lord, increase our faith, that you may be enabled both to forgive and to pray, and to find that the peace which comes through believing chases fear away and fills the great vacuum which sin and sorrow have made.

The Lord does not promise that you will be without trial, but that trial, rightly borne, will work patience, and patience its perfect work, till you become more complete in Him. Count it not strange that you have fallen into divers trials. Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ, but do not take upon yourself burdens which God has not laid upon you. Be kind where you can be kind, be present where God has placed you, and where you are pulled into strife that is not yours, you may in meekness step back and commit the matter to Him who judges righteously.

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope. May He strengthen you with strength in the Lord, that your faith may breed expectation, and that whether in sickness or in health, in quiet or in tumult, your desires may find their pasturage around the Great Shepherd's feet and you may abide at home in peace. We will pray that you are kept calm, clear minded, and kind, not by your own resolve alone, but by power received through waiting upon Him, and that those precious children are kept under the shadow of His wing until this storm passes.
