Praying for companionship, circle of friends and spouse

Anonymous

Beloved of All
Please pray that I meet people similar age group or younger friend group and spouse that I can grow and share faith and life experiences together. Also pray for renewal of youth on skin.

We hear your heart’s longing for godly companionship, a circle of friends who share your faith, and a spouse with whom you can walk in Christ together. The desire for fellowship is a good and holy one, for Scripture tells us, "Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow; but woe to him who is alone when he falls, and doesn’t have another to lift him up" (Ecclesiastes 4:9-10). We also lift up your request for renewal, trusting that the God who formed you in your mother’s womb is able to restore and refresh every part of you.

First, we must address the foundation of all our prayers and desires: salvation in Jesus Christ. There is no true fellowship, no lasting companionship, and no godly spouse apart from Him. Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me" (John 14:6). If you have not yet surrendered your life to Him, we urge you to do so today. Confess your sins, repent, and believe in His death and resurrection for your salvation. Only then can you experience the fullness of the relationships you seek, for "if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ, his Son, cleanses us from all sin" (1 John 1:7).

Now, let us pray for the desires of your heart:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up this dear one who longs for companionship, friends, and a spouse. Lord, You know the deepest desires of their heart, and we ask that You would fulfill them according to Your will. Father, surround them with believers who will sharpen them in faith, encourage them in love, and walk with them in truth. Bring godly friends into their life, those who will pray with them, study Your Word with them, and hold them accountable in their walk with You.

Lord, we also pray for a spouse for them, if it be Your will. Raise up a man or woman of God who loves You above all else, who will lead or follow in a marriage that honors You. Prepare their heart for this sacred covenant, and let them not settle for anything less than Your best. Guard them from the temptation of fornication or impure relationships, for Your Word warns, "Flee sexual immorality! ‘Every sin that a man does is outside the body,’ but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body" (1 Corinthians 6:18). May they seek purity in singleness and marriage, trusting You to provide in Your perfect timing.

Father, we also lift up their request for renewal. You are the God who makes all things new, and we ask that You would refresh their skin, their energy, and their spirit. Let them feel Your vitality coursing through them, for "those who wait for Yahweh will renew their strength. They will mount up with wings like eagles. They will run, and not be weary. They will walk, and not faint" (Isaiah 40:31). Remind them that true beauty comes from a heart surrendered to You, for "charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain; but a woman who fears Yahweh, she shall be praised" (Proverbs 31:30).

Lord, we rebuke any spirit of loneliness, isolation, or discouragement that may be trying to take root in their life. We declare that they are never alone, for You have said, "I will never leave you, nor forsake you" (Hebrews 13:5). Fill them with Your peace and joy as they wait on You. Teach them to delight in You, and in due time, You will give them the desires of their heart (Psalm 37:4).

We also encourage you, dear one, to be proactive in seeking fellowship. Join a Bible-believing church, serve in ministry, and be open to the friendships God may bring. Do not grow weary in doing good, for in due season, you will reap if you do not give up (Galatians 6:9). And as you wait for a spouse, use this time to grow in your relationship with Christ, for a strong marriage is built on two individuals who are strong in the Lord.

May the Lord bless you and keep you; may He make His face shine on you and be gracious to you; may He turn His face toward you and give you peace (Numbers 6:24-26). In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

Thank you for trusting us with what’s on your heart. We hear you, longing for a circle of friends, for a spouse, and for someone who really walks with you in faith and everyday life. That desire isn’t shallow; it’s woven into how God made us, and it’s right to bring it to Him.

Loneliness can make you feel invisible, but you’re not forgotten. Sometimes the next right step is simply to place yourself where relationships naturally grow, a small group, a Bible study, or a serving team where you see the same faces week after week. Friendships often begin with proximity and shared direction, and as you let people see your real life, trust deepens. We’d encourage you to find a place in your church or community where you can show up consistently, not to force anything, but to be present and open. God knows your need, and He often uses ordinary settings to weave people together.

We also hear the ache for a sense of renewal in your appearance. While we can’t chase youth on our own terms, we can rest in the truth that you are wonderfully made right now. If there’s any underlying health issue that concerns you, a doctor’s insight can be a wise step. But we’ll simply pray for you to feel at home in your own skin, confident in God’s care.

Jesus, you see the places where this person feels alone and the hope for a companion and friends who share their faith. Please open doors to real connection, give courage to reach out, and anchor their heart in your steady presence during the wait. Grant a deep sense of vitality and peace, inside and out. In your name we pray, amen.

The soul that longs for a companion and a circle of kindred spirits has begun to taste the very thing for which we were fashioned, for it is not good that man should be alone. Yet let me press this upon your heart with all tenderness: no human spouse, no earthly friend, can fill the place that belongs first to Christ Jesus. I have said it plainly, and I say it again, that love which the Bridegroom lavishes upon His Church is something special and particular, set apart from all other affections, and He will not share that place with another. Seek Him as your first and truest Friend, for who can prove his friendship as Jesus proved it by laying down His life for those He calls His friends? When you have found your all in Him, then every other gift will fall into its proper place and proportion. Friendship with Christ is a reciprocal thing; He reveals Himself to His people, and His people tell out their hearts to Him. Make that communion your chief delight, and you will not walk in loneliness, for He will guide you to those with whom you may share faith and life.

You ask also for that renewal of youth, and I perceive in this a desire both inward and outward. Let me speak plainly: the renewal you most need is not first of the skin but of the soul. We are often the subjects of sinful decline; the ordinary wear and tear of spiritual life demands a constant renewing work. Does not the prophet speak of Ephraim as having gray hairs here and there upon him, but he knew it not? That unconscious decline will certainly come upon you unless you seek seasons of refreshing from the Spirit of God. Yet the promise stands sure, your youth is renewed like the eagle’s. The eagle’s eye grows dim apart from this renewal, but the Lord restores its keenness. So when the Spirit visits us with times of refreshing, our strength returns, our countenance brightens, and even this poor flesh often partakes of the benefit. The spouse in the Song cried out for both the north wind and the south wind to blow upon her garden, fully acknowledging her dependence upon the free Spirit. Cry out with her, and believe that He who renews the inward man can and does restore the outward frame, for the body is the temple of His Spirit.

Do not imagine that such restoration lies far off and requires long delay. Conversion itself may take place in a second of time, and so may restoration. If you have sought Him and known Him, and yet have lost something of that fresh communion, seek the renewal of it at once. Let this be the hour when you say with the spouse, “Let my Beloved come into His garden.” Come before Him not as one striving to earn a gift, but as one bringing the fruit of a believing heart, however imperfect, and know that He takes pleasure in the offering of His people. I have felt myself overcome with the bare thought that anything I have ever done should give my Lord pleasure, yet He condescends to eat His pleasant fruits within us. Renew your covenant with Him as Jonathan did with David in the woods, and I believe it need not be a sorrowful hour. Seek Him, and He will be found of you; then, with your heart fixed on Him, watch how He orders your steps toward that companionship you desire, and how He renews your days as the eagle’s.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

You speak of wanting a circle of friends and a spouse, but what is the root of this desire? For I fear that many seek such things for the wrong reasons. The world forms friendships from relationship, from long acquaintance, from community of interest, from neighborhood. But the friendship that is born of godliness, that is the only true and abiding bond. When one’s friendships ought to be formed only upon this, we instead seek every other motive. Do you not know that friendships based on worldly comforts are more grievous than enmity? For by an enemy we may be profited, if we are watchful, but a friend who loves your table rather than your soul will necessarily harm you when the feasting stops.

Let your prayer be refined. Do not ask merely for companions of a similar age or a spouse to share life’s experiences. Ask for fellow soldiers who will lock shields with you in the battle for holiness. This is the friendship that makes a fortified city. Not eating and drinking together, for robbers and murderers do that. But if you are a true friend, you will help one another to hinder those things which lead away to hell. The end of the commandment is charity out of a pure heart, and of a good conscience, and of faith unfeigned. This is the spouse you must seek, and these are the friends you must cultivate. If you find those who are enamored rather of your table than of your friendship, if your living is reduced, their friendship departs. But the ones who associate with you for virtue’s sake remain through every change.

And as for this prayer for the renewal of youth on your skin, consider what you are asking. You are concerned with the outward appearance, which is the mother of vainglory, avarice, and slander. It turns everything upside down and makes one unstable and without natural affection. Do you seek this vulgar glory? Do not do so. The body is perishing. Let your zeal instead be for the beauty of the soul, which loves the light and has a good conscience. When you build a fellowship of true love, then you will see a harmony more beautiful than any physical charm, a symphony played by the might of love that rejoices the angels. Put away these childish things. Seek the love that flows from a pure heart, for by it you fulfill the whole law, owing it to your brother because you are members of one another. It is this sincere love, rooted in Christ, which makes a man stronger than any tyrant and renders him invincible.

Your desire for companionship and a spouse is a deep and good one, because God designed us for fellowship. Yet the kind of companions you seek must be shaped by the call to live a distinctly godly life. As the world grows more corrupt, a person who lives righteously in Christ will stand out more and more. Do not be surprised if that sets you apart. Jesus told us that when we embody the traits He described in the Beatitudes, the world does not admire them. It often responds with reviling and false accusations. So seek friends and a spouse who share not just your age or interests, but your submission to the lordship of Jesus Christ. That is what makes a person truly a Christian, not merely a cultural label.

Be careful not to turn away from godly influences when they challenge you. A man plays the fool when he makes enemies of those who love the Lord and speak truth into his life. God often surrounds us with faithful companions who are brave enough to say, “You should not be doing that.” If you find that kind of friend, cherish that bond. The body of Christ is a whole new race. In Christ, there is no room for anti-anyone sentiment. We are one family, brothers and sisters no matter our ethnic background. Let that oneness shape the circle you long for.

As for the renewal of your skin, bring that honestly to the Lord. He cares about our bodies. Remember Job, who cried out that his bones clung to his skin, that he had escaped by the skin of his teeth. Yet in that darkness, his faith still declared, “Though after my skin worms destroy this body, yet in my flesh shall I see God.” Faith triumphs over the darkest night not by fixing its eyes on the situation alone, but by looking through it to God. Pray for physical restoration, but let godly sorrow do its deeper work if needed, the kind of sorrow that leads to real change, to clearing of yourselves, to a vehement desire for holiness. That sorrow brings life. The world’s sorrow only brings death because it has no repentance in it.

As you walk this path, remember that as a Christian you are a witness. Be an honor to your community in every practical way, so that your life gives no ammunition to those who look for fault. All things may be lawful for you, but not everything is helpful for running the race to win. True freedom means you will not be brought under the power of anything. Let that liberty guide how you live, how you seek a spouse, and how you hold even the desire for youthful skin before the Lord. He knows your needs, and His hand is not too short to provide in His time.

We want to thank you for the privilege of standing with you in prayer these past days. It has been our joy to lift up your heart’s desires before the Lord—asking Him to draw near to you with godly companionship, a circle of friends who share your faith, and a future spouse with whom you can walk in Christ together. We’ve also prayed for the renewal of youthfulness in your spirit and even in your skin, trusting God to restore what time and life may have worn.

If the Lord has already begun to answer these prayers—perhaps through a new connection, a rekindled friendship, or even a sense of peace and hope—we would love to hear your praise report! There is nothing that strengthens our faith like seeing God move in response to prayer.

If, however, you’re still waiting and longing for these blessings, please don’t hesitate to post this request again. We’re here to continue praying with you, believing that God hears every cry of your heart. He is faithful, and His timing is perfect, even when it doesn’t align with ours.

May the Lord bless you with His presence as you seek Him through His Son, Jesus Christ. May you feel His love surrounding you, His peace guarding your heart, and His hope filling your spirit. We pray all these things in Jesus’ Name.

I need to find a local church and Bible study group. The one I went to took hours to attend and it's too much for me. I also need a circle of friends. I have only one member in my family (###) and not close. I'm also barely beginning to learn to write, a talent I know can be developed but it's...
