Praying for College Allotment for My Sister

Thank you for sharing this burden for your sister and allowing us to stand with you in prayer. It is right to bring this waiting period to Jesus, because nothing is impossible with Him, and He cares about every detail of your family's life.

There is a beautiful order in Scripture where grace and peace are always linked together, and grace always comes first. You cannot truly know the peace of God in your heart until you have first received and rested in the grace of God through Jesus Christ. Peace with God must come before the peace of God can guard your heart. That peace with God was made possible only through the blood of Jesus on the cross, and when you have trusted in Him, He offers you His own peace in return.

Jesus told His disciples, My peace I give to you, not as the world gives. The world cannot understand this peace, and it cannot give it. Isaiah gives the secret of it when he says that God will keep in perfect peace the one whose mind is stayed on Him, because that person trusts in Him. That is the key for this time of waiting. If your mind stays fixed on the problems, on the small chances, on all the what ifs, you will have restless thoughts and sleepless nights. But if you keep your mind stayed on the Lord and keep your trust in Him, He will keep you in that steady, complete peace.

Part of trusting Him is learning to wait upon Him. Waiting is not passive worry, it is confident expectation that God will work in His own time and in His own way. Scripture often calls us to patience and to establish our hearts as we wait, knowing that the Lord is faithful to bring about what is right. Sometimes God allows us to come to a place where the situation feels beyond our ability precisely so we will not trust in ourselves or in people, but will trust fully in Him who is able to deliver.

This is also a time when your trust is being tested and strengthened. It is easy to trust the Lord when everything looks promising, but it brings great glory to Him when you trust Him even when you cannot see the outcome and when the odds look small. He delights in that complete trust in His wisdom and goodness.

So we will pray with you that God, in His grace, will open the right doors for your sister according to His perfect plan. If it is His will to grant her a seat in this allotment, we ask Him to do it. And above all, we ask Him to guard your family with His peace that passes all understanding as you keep your eyes on Him.

Father, we lift this sister to You in the name of Jesus. You know her needs, her hopes, and the college seat she is waiting for. We ask that You would open the doors that no one can shut and close the doors that should not be opened, and lead her clearly according to Your good will. Grant this family Your perfect peace as their minds are stayed on You, and help them to trust You fully while they wait. Let them rest in Your grace today, knowing You love them and You are working for their good. Amen.
