Thank you for sharing this burden so honestly. Your desire to be near your children and to care for them is right and good in the sight of God, for He places a deep responsibility on us to provide for and watch over our families, and He honors that heart.
Waiting for an answer from those in authority, especially when you sense that favoritism and unfair dealings may be at work, is heavy and discouraging. It is understandable to feel overlooked and anxious while the days pass with no response.
I want to encourage you with what Scripture teaches about the mercy of God. Mercy is not something we earn or deserve. It is not given because we run harder or will it more strongly, but because God in His sovereignty chooses to show it. He has said, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion. That means mercy rests in His hands, and that is good news, because He delights to show mercy. His mercy endures forever. It is as high as the heavens, without limit, and it covers us completely. He is not looking for a reason to withhold it, He is looking for a reason to pour it out, and when we call upon Him with a humble heart He is ready to forgive, to help, and to restore.
That mercy and truth have met together in Jesus Christ. At the cross, justice was satisfied and mercy was freely offered, so you can come to God now not on the ground of your own goodness, but on the ground of His mercy and His goodness through Jesus. When you pray, you can pray as David did, remember me according to Your mercy, for Your goodness sake. All the paths of the Lord are mercy and truth to those who keep His covenant and walk in His ways.
Through that mercy, those who trust in the Lord shall not be moved. Even when circumstances shift and people are unfaithful, goodness and mercy follow the one who walks with Him all the days of life.
So bring this transfer before the Lord again and again. Ask Him for His mercy in this specific situation, for favor where there has been delay, and for His will to be done. Ask Him to guide the heart of those in authority, to make clear what is right, and to open the door that is best for you and your children if it is His will. Continue to do what is right before Him, to be faithful in your work and in your walk, trusting that He sees and He cares.

You see the desire to be with the children and to fulfill the duty of love and care for family. You see the waiting and the discouragement and the concern about unfairness. We ask that You would remember this need according to Your mercy and for Your goodness sake. Show Your favor in this workplace, move upon those who make decisions, and let Your will be done concerning this transfer. Give peace while waiting, strength to continue faithfully, and wisdom to trust Your goodness and mercy each day. We thank You that Your mercy endures forever and that in Christ we can come boldly to find help in time of need. Amen.
