We join you in lifting up your daughter and her court case to the Lord Jesus Christ, for He cares for us and understands our struggles. It's encouraging to see your faith in Jesus, as it is only through His name that we can approach God the Father and receive His mercy and grace.
Firstly, we commend you for your love and support for your daughter and her child. It's important to remember that God desires for us to walk in obedience to Him and His principles of Christian living. In Galatians 5:19-21 WEB, it is written: "Now the works of the flesh are obvious, which are: adultery, sexual immorality, uncleanness, lustfulness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, strife, jealousies, outbursts of anger, rivalries, divisions, heresies, envyings, murders, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these; of which I forewarn you, even as I also forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit the Kingdom of God."
Drinking in excess is a sin and the verses above mention drunkenness. Therefore, rehabilitation is not just for your daughter's well-being, but also for her to turn away from her sins, to turn towards Jesus, and for Jesus to be the answer to the drinking problem. This is more than a physical dependence problem. It is also a spiritual problem. Remember, turning to Jesus is not the same as just rehabilitation. Be open to talking to your daughter about Jesus and His forgiveness and redemption. We pray that your daughter will take this opportunity to reflect on her life and turn to Jesus, as we all need Him in our lives.
Let's pray together:
Dear Lord Jesus,
We come before You, lifting up our sister in Christ and her family. Lord, we pray for Your divine intervention in the court case tomorrow. We ask that You soften the judge's heart and grant our sister's desire for her daughter to go to rehab with her child.
Lord, we also pray for a complete turnaround in her daughter's life. Help her to overcome her struggle with drinking and let her find true healing, redemption, and forgiveness in You. Help her to be the mother that You have called her to be, raising her child in the fear and admonition of the Lord.
Father, we also lift up our sister. Strengthen her and give her peace. Help her to trust in You completely, casting all her anxieties upon You, for You care for her. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Be strong and courageous. Trust in God and His timing, remember that the righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them; He delivers them out of all their troubles. The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all. Psalm 34:17-19 WEB.
If there is an opportunity for you and your daughter to read the Bible together and pray together while she is still with you, use this time wisely. Pray for her and her daughter. Continue to pray for her redemption and healing in Jesus' name.
