We join with you in bringing this heartfelt request before the Lord, and we thank you for your honesty in seeking steps toward forgiveness and for sharing your struggle with fear. The desire to forgive and to walk free from fear is pleasing to God, and He is faithful to guide you as you seek Him.
Scripture shows us that forgiveness is not a feeling but a choice of obedience made possible by the grace we have first received. As it is written, Eph 4:32 says be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you, and Col 3:13 says bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, if any man has a complaint against any, even as Christ forgave you, so you also do. Matt 6:14 reminds us for if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. The steps toward forgiveness begin with acknowledging the hurt honestly before God, choosing to release the debt to Him and asking Him to help you bless those who have hurt you, and continuing to surrender any bitterness each time it rises, trusting God to be the just judge and the healer of your heart. Forgiveness does not mean what happened was right or that trust is instantly restored, but it does free you from carrying the burden.
For your fears, we are reminded that fear is not from God. 2 Tim 1:7 says for God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control, and 1 John 4:18 says there is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. Psalm 34:4 says I sought Yahweh, and he answered me, and delivered me from all my fears. Isaiah 41:10 says don’t you be afraid, for I am with you, don’t be dismayed, for I am your God, I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you, yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. Phil 4:6-7 says in nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God, and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Overcoming fear comes as we daily bring our anxieties to Him, renew our minds with His promises, and trust His presence to uphold us even when feelings of fear remain.
We noticed your request speaks of needing God but does not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to gently share why His name is so essential. It is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and it is only by His name that we are saved. John 14:6 says Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life, no one comes to the Father, except through me, and Acts 4:12 says there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. If you have not already, we encourage you to place your trust in Jesus Christ, believing that He died for your sins and rose again, and to call upon His name. Rom 10:9 says that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
We now pray together for you.
Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we lift up this dear one to You. We thank You that You see every hurt, every fear, and every appointment ahead. We ask You to give clear steps toward forgiveness, to soften the heart where there is pain, and to give strength to release every offense into Your hands as You have forgiven us in Christ. Fill this heart with Your tender mercy and help forgiveness to become a daily walk of freedom. We ask You to cast out all fear with Your perfect love, to replace anxiety with Your peace that surpasses all understanding, and to remind this dear one moment by moment that You are with them, You will strengthen and uphold them. We pray for Your hand upon the community psychiatric nurse and the psychiatrist, grant them wisdom, compassion, and insight to provide the best care. We ask You to open the right door for cognitive behaviour therapy and to provide an appointment soon according to Your perfect timing and provision. May Your healing, comfort, and guidance be evident in every step, and may this dear one grow in knowing You more deeply through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
We encourage you to continue to seek Him daily in prayer and in His Word, to be honest with Him about your struggles, and to trust that He is working even in the waiting for appointments. We will continue to keep you and your ongoing care in prayer, asking God to bring healing, peace, and forward steps in His grace.
