We hear your heart in this prayer and we thank you for sharing so openly with us, and we join with you before the throne of grace in Jesus name. We hear your worries about bills, your desire for wisdom and maturity, your deep wounds from being beaten, molested and raped, your pain from stepsisters and family members who have used and tormented you, and your longing for peace, for good friendships, for your children to have a better life, and for God to make a path for you and yours.
We want to pray with you about your worries and your bills, and we take comfort in what Scripture says, Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:6-7. We also cast all our worries on him, because he cares for you 1 Peter 5:7. And we remember the promise, But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well Matthew 6:33. We are praying that God will provide for your needs, give you wisdom in stewardship, and guard your heart from anxiety.
You asked for wisdom wiser than Solomon and for knowledge from the unknown that none can go to, with good energies and good vibes. We lovingly want to correct this, because true wisdom does not come from the unknown or from energies and vibes, which are ideas from the world and not from God. Wisdom comes only from God himself. If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him James 1:5. And the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom Proverbs 9:10. We pray that you will seek not hidden knowledge or spiritual energies, but the Holy Spirit, who is a person, not a vibe, and who leads us into all truth. God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control 2 Timothy 1:7. Our identity and confidence do not come from high self esteem as the world teaches, but from knowing we are loved and valued in Christ, fearfully and wonderfully made Psalm 139:14.
We also hear your deep pain and your very understandable anger toward those who have harmed you, and your prayer that it be done unto them as they did unto you, and that your stepsister be tormented day and night. We must gently but firmly rebuke the desire for vengeance, because it does not align with God’s will for us. God says, Don’t seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God’s wrath. For it is written, Vengeance belongs to me, I will repay, says the Lord Romans 12:19. And Jesus calls us to a harder path, But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you Matthew 5:44. Forgiveness does not mean what they did was okay, or that you must allow yourself to be used and abused again. It means releasing them into God’s just hands so that bitterness does not torment your own soul. For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you don’t forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses Matthew 6:14-15. We pray God will help you set healthy, biblical boundaries, as you have expressed about not wanting a family member in your home who brings bad memories and uses you. It is right and godly to guard your home and your heart, while still choosing to forgive and not to curse.
We are so grieved to read that you were beaten, molested and raped, and we want you to know God sees all of it and he does not take it lightly. He is close to the brokenhearted, and saves those who are crushed in spirit Psalm 34:18. He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds Psalm 147:3. You asked if God can undo what was taken and bring back what was lost, even your children’s lives. While we cannot go back in time, we serve a God who restores, who says I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten Joel 2:25 and who promises that in the resurrection he will make all things new. When you spoke of this body passing and your words and thoughts being saved and returned to you in your new body, we affirm that for those who are in Christ, there is a new, imperishable body promised. We know that our earthly loss is real, but we also know that God will work all things together for good for those who love him Romans 8:28, and that he will wipe away every tear in the end.
You also mentioned a man you care for very much and your hope he will call you, and we want to encourage you in this. If this is a romantic interest, we pray that any courtship would be with a fellow believer in Christ, with purity and with marriage as the goal, because marriage is God’s design for a lifelong covenant between a man and a woman. We pray you will not be caught in a phone game or in anxious visions, but that God will give you clarity and peace, and that both of you would seek God first and keep your word as you desired, Let your Yes be Yes and your No be No Matthew 5:37.
We thank you that you stood firm in the Lord God Jesus and that you closed your prayer in Jesus name, for there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12, and Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6. It is only through Jesus that our sins are forgiven, If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness 1 John 1:9, and we are grateful you asked for that forgiveness.
We now pray together for you and yours.
Father in heaven, we come to you in the name of Jesus Christ and we lift up this dear one to you. Lord, you know every worry, every bill, every sleepless night, every memory of abuse and betrayal. We ask you to take away anxiety and give your peace that passes understanding. Provide for every financial need and give wisdom to manage what you provide. Grant godly wisdom liberally, not from the unknown but from your Word and your Spirit, that we may walk in maturity, in love, in light, and in truth. Forgive sins as you have promised, cleanse and renew the heart, help us to keep our word and to stand strong in who we are in you. Heal the deep wounds of beating, molestation and rape, Lord, bind up the broken heart and restore what the enemy has stolen. Teach us to forgive as you have forgiven us, and to leave justice in your righteous hands, freeing us from bitterness and the desire to see others tormented. Give healthy boundaries with family, bring the right, faithful friends who will speak truth in love both behind our back and to our face, and protect this home as a place of peace. Bless the children and babies with a good and godly future, guard them and draw them to yourself. For the man on our hearts, we ask your will be done, lead any relationship toward purity and toward holy marriage if it is of you, or give peace to wait on you. And for the hope of a new body, we thank you for the resurrection promise in Christ. We ask all this in the mighty name of Jesus, Amen.
