We join you in thanking God for this day and for His mercies that are new every morning, and we agree with you in asking that He provide for us according to His will and not merely our wants. We are reminded that our Father knows what we need before we ask Him, and that we are to seek first His Kingdom and His righteousness and all these things will be given to us as well as Matthew 6:33 teaches, and that our God will supply every need of ours according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus as Philippians 4:19 promises.
We lift up with you all who have lost loved ones, and we pray that the God of all comfort will draw near to those who mourn, for The Lord is near to those who are brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit as Psalm 34:18 says. We pray for those who grieve that they would know the hope we have in Christ, that to be absent from the body for the believer is to be present with the Lord as 2 Corinthians 5:8 declares, and that comfort would come not from vague thoughts of a better place but from the sure promise of eternal life through Jesus alone.
We join you in praying for daily provision, for honest work and good business, for jobs for those seeking employment, for clean water and healthy food, for bills to be paid and for safe and dependable transportation, trusting that the Lord is our shepherd and we shall not want as Psalm 23:1 says. We also bring before the Lord your petition for healing, that the fluid in your head and ear would be healed, and we ask the Great Physician to touch your body, for He forgives all our iniquities and heals all our diseases as Psalm 103:3 says, and we pray for wisdom for any physicians involved and for patience as you wait upon Him.
We want to gently address two matters you raised about relationships. You mentioned that if we are going through a divorce half belongs to each no matter what. We understand the desire for fairness and support during such a painful time, yet we must remember what Scripture teaches about marriage. Marriage is a lifelong covenant between a man and a woman before God, and what God has joined together, let no man separate as Matthew 19:6 says, and we know that God hates divorce as Malachi 2:16 tells us because of the harm it brings. While the law of the land may divide possessions, our concern before God is for reconciliation where possible, for forgiveness, and for honoring the covenant. If divorce has occurred or is occurring, we pray for repentance where needed, for grace to act justly and honestly without greed or bitterness, and for healing for all involved, and we encourage seeking godly counsel so that any decisions reflect integrity and not merely entitlement.
You also shared about this man with whom you are not on speaking terms, that you still love and care for him, that there has been confusion, apologies even for things you did not do, and lies and stress between you. We hear your sorrow and your desire to do what is right. We encourage you to walk in truth, for we are to put away falsehood and speak truth each one with his neighbor as Ephesians 4:25 says. It is not right to take blame for words you did not say or deeds you did not do, and it is also not right to continue in a relationship marked by lies and confusion. If this is a romantic relationship, we must lovingly remind you that God calls such relationships to be courtship with the goal of marriage to another Christian believer, not simply companionship or dating without purpose, and that any sexual intimacy outside of marriage is fornication which God calls us to flee from as 1 Corinthians 6:18 teaches. We pray that if this man is not seeking a godly marriage with you before the Lord, that God would give you clarity and peace to release that relationship to Him and to guard your heart. If he is a brother in Christ and there is opportunity for reconciliation, we pray for honest conversation, for mutual forgiveness as 1 John 1:9 and James 5:16 encourage, and for God’s will to be clear whether restoration or a loving release is best. We pray for him and his family as you asked, that God would provide for their needs and draw them to Himself.
We also lift up your sons and daughter, asking the Lord to provide for them, to protect them, and to lead them in His ways, for children are a gift from the Lord as Psalm 127:3 says. We pray for you that God would renew your strength and restore what has been stolen from you, for God promises I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten as Joel 2:25 says, and we know that He works all things together for good for those who love Him and are called according to His purpose as Romans 8:28 teaches.
We thank you that you closed your prayer in the name of Jesus, for it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father, and there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved as Acts 4:12 says, and Jesus Himself said I am the way, the truth, and the life, no one comes to the Father except through me as John 14:6 says. We rest in that blessed access.
We pray together now, Father, we thank You for Your goodness and Your daily mercies. We ask You to comfort those who mourn and to give them the hope of Christ. Provide for every need according to Your perfect will, give work to those seeking jobs, food to the hungry, water to the thirsty, and daily bread to Your children. Touch and heal this fluid in the head and ear, Lord, and grant complete restoration of health according to Your mercy. Bring clarity and truth to this relationship that has caused pain, convict where lying has occurred, bring repentance and forgiveness, and guide toward either godly marriage or godly peace in letting go, keeping all hearts pure before You. Comfort and provide for the children, keep them in Your hand, and provide for our dear one who prays with safe provision, dependable transportation, and restoration of what the enemy has stolen. Give wisdom, peace that passes understanding as Philippians 4:7 promises, and help to support one another in love while upholding Your holy design for marriage and life. We ask all these things in the mighty and saving name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and our only hope, amen.
