We join you in this beautiful desire for excitement and joy and for deeper communion with our Lord Jesus, and we thank you for inviting us to pray with you in His holy and beautiful name.

We understand the longing for a life filled with joy and for conversations with Jesus that feel near, personal, and beautiful. Scripture shows us that true joy is not found in fleeting excitement from the world, but in His presence. Psalm 16:11 says, You will show me the path of life. In your presence is fullness of joy. In your right hand there are pleasures forevermore. And Jesus Himself said in John 15:11, I have spoken these things to you, that my joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be made full. This is the joy we pray for you, a settled, abiding joy that remains even when circumstances change, because it is rooted in Christ.

We also rejoice that you desire beautiful conversations with Jesus. He desires that fellowship with you as well. James 4:8 reminds us, Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. The Lord invites us to call upon Him and to listen for His voice, primarily through His Word and by His Spirit. Jeremiah 33:3 says, Call to me, and I will answer you, and will show you great and difficult things, which you do not know. When we open our Bibles with a prayerful heart, we are hearing His beautiful words to us, and when we pray, we are speaking to Him. This two way communion grows more beautiful as we remain faithful in it. Philippians 4:6-7 encourages us, In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, thanking You for this dear one who hungers for joy and for closeness with You. We ask that You fill their life with Your joy, that Nehemiah 8:10 would be true for them, that the joy of Yahweh is their strength. Replace any weariness or dullness with the excitement of walking daily with Christ, seeing Your hand at work, and discovering the pleasures of Your presence. Teach them to rejoice in the Lord always as Philippians 4:4 instructs, and let that rejoicing be their continual song.

Lord Jesus, we ask that You draw near as they draw near to You. Help them to have beautiful, consistent conversations with You. Give them a hunger for Your Word, quiet time to listen, and a heart to pray without ceasing as 1 Thessalonians 5:17 calls us to do. Speak to them through Scripture, comfort them by Your Holy Spirit, and let them know Your voice and Your love in a deeper way each day. May their life be marked by Your peace and Your joy, and may others see Your light shining through them.

We thank You, Father, that we can come boldly to Your throne only through Jesus, and we praise You that You hear us. Continue this good work in them and keep them close to You. We pray all these things in the holy and beautiful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

Thank you for sharing this with us. Your longing for more joy and for beautiful, honest conversations with Jesus is so understandable, and we are grateful to bring it to Him with you.

We have found that those conversations often grow in the small, ordinary moments, just speaking honestly as you would with a close friend and then giving Him space to speak back through His presence and His Word. It does not have to be eloquent, just real.

If it would help, you might try setting aside a few unhurried minutes at the same time each day, perhaps in the morning or before sleep, to simply talk with Jesus about what is on your heart and then sit quietly for a moment to listen. Some people find it helps to keep it simple and consistent rather than trying to make each time feel special.

We are praying for you to know His nearness more and more, and for Him to fill your days with a steady, quiet joy.

Jesus, thank You for loving us and for wanting to be close to us. We lift our friend to You and ask You to meet with them in tender, personal ways. Draw them nearer, speak to their heart, and fill their life with Your joy and peace as they walk with You. In Your holy and beautiful name we pray, amen.

Your desire for true joy and for sweet and beautiful converse with the Lord Jesus is itself an evidence of His grace at work in your heart, and I thank God for it.

There is a joy which the world cannot give and cannot take away. Our blessed Lord Himself, though He was the Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief, rejoiced in spirit, and that with a spiritual, inward and most living joy which made His heart dance. It was not a light or fleshly excitement, but the joy of doing the Father's will and seeing the Father's power going forth with His Word. When you seek excitement and joy, seek it there. If the Lord gives you to see His work in your own soul and in others, let that be your joy. Enter into the joy of your Lord, for He is satisfied with the Father's order and purpose, and you may be satisfied in Him. As it is written, let them that love His name be joyful in Him, and let your face shine with what He puts within. To be filled with joy and peace through believing is far more satisfying than merely to hear about it.

And this joy grows as you walk in real contact with Him, not in a mechanical or outward religion, but in an inward touching of His blessed Person by faith. He is thoughtful of your wants and He says to you still, Come and break your fast. He spreads the same faithful provision for you each day in His Word and at His table. Many a weary night of fruitless toil is turned to gladness when Jesus draws near. Come to Him in the morning and in the evening, not only now and then, but continually, and you shall find stamina for the way and songs in the night.

You ask for beautiful conversations with Jesus. He invites such converse. You may bring Him your hard questions, your doubts, your burdens great and small, for there is no question too hard for Him to answer. How shall man be just with God, how shall I see the Father, how shall I live this day for His glory, bring it all to Him in prayer and in the searching of the Scriptures, for he that has seen Christ has seen the Father. And let your conversation be seasoned with Him. Make Jesus, Jesus only, the theme of your talk, for they shall speak of the glory of His kingdom and talk of His power. When you speak often with Him in secret, you will find you speak more sweetly of Him openly, and your spirit will not be left dull or spiritless.

Let me pray for you.

O Father of all mercy, in the name of Thy dear Son Jesus Christ, who alone is the way of salvation, look upon this seeking heart. Grant an increase of holy joy, not the fleeting excitement of the world, but the deep and abiding joy of Christ dwelling within. Give a spirit of adoption, that as a child and heir with Christ, this soul may know itself beloved and may love Thee better and so be happier in Thee. Grant daily and beautiful converse with the Lord Jesus. Teach to come and break fast with Him, to hear His voice in the Word, to pour out the heart in prayer, to touch Him by living faith and receive from Him life and love. Turn every night of toil into a morning of fellowship, and let Thy light shine with joy upon the face. Keep in the path of holiness and truth, and conform more and more to the image of Christ, till the joy begun on earth shall be joy forever. For Jesus sake, Amen.

God be with me as a mighty warrior. Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul.
