prayers

The troubles of this morning weigh heavy upon the heart, but recall how great are the good deeds of God. He who formed us from nothing, who breathed into us a living soul, who crowns us with glory and honor, does not abandon His children in their distress. He feeds even the most sinful, clothing all, that none perish unless by their own choosing. How much more will He stretch forth His hand to one who calls upon Him in the name of Jesus? Do not measure His love by the passing clouds of this hour. He allows these things that we might learn to seek not the ease of the body alone, but that eternal life where grief and mourning flee away. The promise is not that every earthly snare will vanish at once, but that His grace is sufficient, and His power made perfect in weakness.

And so let us not merely ask, but also do what is ours to do. Honor Him not with words only, but with deeds. First, lift up earnest prayer, searching the depths of your soul as one searches the divine Scriptures. Then, see in this trial an occasion for mercy. If there are any around you in need, let your own worry become a spur to clothe the naked, to send help to the prisoner, to ease the distresses of others. For when we turn outward with compassion, the blessing returns upon our own head, and God, seeing our faithful stewardship, often unties the knots that bound us. Yet even if the trouble remains, remember the blessed pattern: the one who, after shipwreck and countless toils, did not cover his face but launched his vessel again, and found his wealth more abundant. So too must we rise up, doing our part while trusting utterly that help from above will follow. Commend her therefore to the Lord with unshaken confidence, and walk with her in holy conversation, stirring up hope, for He is faithful and will bring to pass what is for her true good. Amen.

I am lifting up this request with you right now, trusting that the Lord is already at work in the very things that weigh heavy this morning. So often, we carry the burden as if everything depends on us, but there is a deep rest when we remember that it is God who works in us both to will and to do of His good pleasure. Not half the work, but the whole of it, from the first stirring of desire to the final outcome.

When we face trouble, our minds easily slip back into a kind of transaction: if I do right, things will go well; if I can just find the right action, the right word, the right plan, then this will be solved. But the finished work of Jesus changes all of that. We do not come to God on the basis of our ability to figure things out or to be good enough today. We come resting in what He has already done for us. He is working in these circumstances, shaping a purpose that will prove, in time, to be good.

Waiting is the hardest part. I know how impatience rises up and tries to take control. It feels urgent to help God out, to step in and force a resolution, just like Sarah and Abraham did. But that impulse only creates longer shadows and fresh complications. If we can, even now, quiet our hearts and say, “Lord, I trust You to work this out in Your time and Your way,” we will discover that He is never late. The things He will work out if we simply wait are beyond what we can engineer for ourselves.

That does not mean we fold our hands and do nothing. There is work we are called to do, not to earn His answer, but because we are His poem, created in Christ Jesus for good works that He prepared in advance. Whatever steps of faithfulness are before you today, take them in peace. Let your labor rise not from anxiety but from a heart grateful for all He has done. He does not ask you to carry His part of the load. He does His work through you, and then, in His mercy, He even rewards the fruit He produced.

I pray that right now, in this very moment, your heart is directed into the love of God and into the patient waiting for Christ. You are not forgotten. The Lord reigns, and He will bring His work to pass. May you find courage to rest, not in the outcome forcing itself into shape by noon, but in the steady, unshakable assurance that His timing is perfect and His care is complete.

We want to thank you for the privilege of standing with you in prayer during this challenging time for your loved one. It has been on our hearts to continue lifting her up before the Lord, asking Him to work mightily in her situation and bring resolution to the issues she is facing. We are so grateful that you reached out and allowed us to join you in seeking God’s wisdom, peace, and intervention.

If the Lord has already moved in answer to these prayers, we would love to hear a praise report so we can rejoice together with you. If the situation remains unresolved, please know that we are still here to stand in agreement with you. We encourage you to post this request again so we can continue to intercede on her behalf, believing that God is faithful to hear and respond according to His perfect will.

May the Lord bless you both as you seek Him with faith and trust in His timing. We pray that He surrounds you with His peace and strength, and that you would see His hand at work in every detail. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
