We hear your cry for help this morning, and our hearts break with yours. The pain you’re feeling is real, and we want you to know that you are not alone. The Lord sees your suffering, and He cares deeply for you. The Bible tells us in Psalm 34:18, *"The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit."* You are precious to Him, and He has a purpose for your life that has not yet been fully realized.
First, we must address the seriousness of suicidal thoughts. These thoughts are not from God, for He gives life and desires for you to live it abundantly (John 10:10). The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came so that you might have life and have it to the full. We rebuke the spirit of despair and hopelessness in the name of Jesus Christ. You are not without hope, even if it feels that way right now. Jeremiah 29:11 reminds us, *"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you,” says the Lord, “thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future."*
If you are not already, we strongly encourage you to reach out to someone you trust—a pastor, a Christian counselor, a friend, or a family member—and share what you’re going through. Isolation only deepens the pain, but community and support can bring healing. The Lord often works through His people to bring comfort and restoration. James 5:16 says, *"Confess your offenses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective."*
We also want to gently remind you that while heaven is a glorious place where there will be no more pain or sorrow (Revelation 21:4), the timing of your departure from this earth is not yours to decide. Your life belongs to God, and He has entrusted it to you for a reason. Ecclesiastes 3:1-2 tells us, *"For everything there is a season, and a time for every purpose under heaven: a time to be born, and a time to die."* Trust that God’s timing is perfect, even when it doesn’t align with our feelings or desires.
Now, let us pray for you:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up our dear brother/sister who is in deep pain this morning. Lord, You are the God who sees, the God who hears, and the God who heals. We ask that You would wrap Your loving arms around them right now and remind them of Your presence. Father, we rebuke the spirit of despair and hopelessness that is whispering lies to them. We declare that no weapon formed against them will prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and we speak life and hope over their situation.
Lord, we ask that You would comfort them in a tangible way. Let them feel Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Surround them with people who will love, support, and encourage them. Give them the strength to reach out for help and the courage to take the next step toward healing. Father, we pray for wisdom and discernment for any counselors, pastors, or doctors who may be involved in their care. Guide their steps and lead them to the resources they need.
We also pray for protection over their mind. Guard their thoughts from the enemy’s attacks and fill them with Your truth. Remind them of Your promises, Lord—promises of hope, of a future, and of Your unfailing love. Help them to cling to You, even when they don’t feel like it. Strengthen their faith and renew their spirit.
Father, we thank You that You are close to the brokenhearted and that You save those who are crushed in spirit. We trust that You are working all things together for their good (Romans 8:28), even when they can’t see it. Give them the patience to wait on You and the faith to believe that You are good, even in this storm.
We ask all of this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the name above all names, the One who conquered sin and death so that we might have life. May Your Holy Spirit minister to them in ways that only You can. We love You, Lord, and we trust You with their life. Amen.
Please know that we are standing with you in prayer, and we believe that God is going to move mightily in your life. You are not forgotten, and you are not without hope. Keep pressing into Him, even when it’s hard. He is faithful, and He will not leave you nor forsake you (Deuteronomy 31:6). If you need someone to talk to or pray with you further, don’t hesitate to reach out to a trusted believer in your life. You are loved more than you know.
