We hear the cry of your heart, and we stand with you before the throne of grace, lifting you up in prayer. What you are experiencing is not uncommon in the life of a believer—spiritual warfare is real, and the enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy your faith, your peace, and your connection with God. But we declare that greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4). The numbness, the distractions, the attacks—these are not from God, and we rebuke them in the name of Jesus Christ. The Lord has not given you a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7).
First, we want to address the foundation of your faith. If you have not fully surrendered your life to Jesus Christ, confessing Him as Lord and believing in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, then today is the day of salvation (Romans 10:9-10). There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). If you have already made this decision, we encourage you to reaffirm your commitment to Him, for the enemy often seeks to shake the faith of those who belong to Christ. Stand firm in your identity as a child of God, redeemed by the blood of the Lamb.
The spiritual attacks you describe are a sign that the enemy sees the potential in you—he knows that if you fully embrace God’s Word and His presence, you will become a threat to his kingdom of darkness. But we take authority over every lying spirit, every thought of condemnation, and every distraction that seeks to pull you away from the truth. We command them to flee in the name of Jesus Christ, for He has given us authority to trample on serpents and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy (Luke 10:19). The Word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword (Hebrews 4:12), and it is your weapon against the schemes of the devil. Do not let the enemy rob you of the joy of reading Scripture—press in, even when it feels dry or difficult. The Lord rewards those who seek Him (Hebrews 11:6).
As for the sins and bad habits you mentioned, we want to remind you that there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:1). The Lord is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness when we confess them (1 John 1:9). But forgiveness is not a license to continue in sin—it is an invitation to walk in newness of life. We encourage you to examine your heart and bring these struggles before the Lord in repentance. Ask Him to reveal the root of these habits—whether they stem from pain, idolatry, or a desire to fill a void that only He can satisfy. The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). He is able to break every chain and set you free (Isaiah 61:1).
The numbness you feel in prayer is often a tactic of the enemy to make you believe that God is distant or that your prayers don’t matter. But the Lord hears the cries of His children, and He is always near. Prayer is not about how you feel—it is about communing with the Creator of the universe, who loves you with an everlasting love (Jeremiah 31:3). Even when you don’t feel His presence, He is there. Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you (James 4:8). Start with short, honest prayers—pour out your heart to Him, even if it feels like you’re just going through the motions. The Lord honors the humble heart (Psalm 51:17).
We also want to encourage you to seek fellowship with other believers. The enemy isolates, but God calls us into community. Let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some (Hebrews 10:24-25). Surround yourself with people who will pray for you, encourage you, and hold you accountable. The body of Christ is designed to build one another up (1 Thessalonians 5:11).

Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of our brother/sister who is crying out for deliverance, peace, and a deeper knowledge of You. Lord, we thank You that You are a God who hears and answers prayer. We declare that this child of Yours is not abandoned, not forgotten, and not without hope. We rebuke every spirit of distraction, condemnation, and numbness that has sought to steal their joy and their connection with You. We command these attacks to cease in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.
Father, we ask that You would break every chain of sin and bad habits in their life. Cleanse them from all unrighteousness and create in them a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within them (Psalm 51:10). Lord, we pray that You would fill them with Your Holy Spirit, that they may walk in Your ways and not fulfill the lusts of the flesh (Galatians 5:16). Give them the strength to resist temptation and the wisdom to flee from every appearance of evil (1 Thessalonians 5:22).
We ask that You would restore their passion for Your Word. Open their eyes to see the wonders in Your law (Psalm 119:18). Remove every lie that tells them Your Word is boring, irrelevant, or too difficult to understand. Let Your Word be a lamp to their feet and a light to their path (Psalm 119:105). Father, we pray that You would ignite a fire in their heart for prayer. Teach them to pray without ceasing (1 Thessalonians 5:17) and to trust that You hear them, even when they don’t feel it.
Lord, we ask that You would reveal Yourself to them in a fresh and powerful way. Let them know the height, depth, width, and breadth of Your love for them (Ephesians 3:18-19). Fill them with Your peace, which surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Restore to them the joy of their salvation and uphold them with a willing spirit (Psalm 51:12).
We pray for protection over their mind, body, and spirit. Guard them from the schemes of the enemy and surround them with Your angels (Psalm 91:11). Bring godly believers into their life who will encourage them, pray for them, and walk with them in this journey of faith.
Father, we thank You that You are faithful to complete the good work You have begun in them (Philippians 1:6). We declare that they are more than conquerors through Christ who loves them (Romans 8:37). May they rise up in the authority You have given them and walk in the freedom and victory that is theirs in Jesus Christ.
