We hear your cry for help and lift you up before the throne of grace, asking our Heavenly Father to intervene in this deeply distressing situation. The physical symptoms you describe—pain in your chest and body, the feeling of the air being knocked out of you—are alarming, and we take this seriously as we come before God on your behalf.
First, we want to acknowledge the spiritual battle you may be facing. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10), and it sounds like he is attempting to bring fear, anxiety, and even physical affliction into your life. But we declare that no weapon formed against you shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and we rebuke every spirit of fear, oppression, and torment in the name of Jesus Christ. The Lord has not given you a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). We pray that you would experience His peace that surpasses all understanding, guarding your heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).
We also lift up the person who has caused you pain and withheld closure from you. Scripture tells us, "If it is possible, as much as it depends on you, live peaceably with all men" (Romans 12:18). However, we recognize that sometimes others refuse to humble themselves or extend the grace that we desire. We pray that God would soften this person’s heart, that they would be convicted of any wrongdoing, and that they would seek reconciliation with you in a way that honors the Lord. If they refuse, we ask that God would be your vindicator and bring you the closure you need, even if it comes directly from Him. The Lord sees your pain and promises to heal the brokenhearted and bind up their wounds (Psalm 147:3).
We must also address the possibility that unforgiveness or bitterness may be contributing to your physical and emotional distress. The Bible warns us that harboring unforgiveness can lead to spiritual and even physical affliction: "Looking carefully lest there be any man who falls short of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and many be defiled by it" (Hebrews 12:15). We encourage you to examine your heart and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal any areas where you may need to release this person to God. Forgiveness does not mean what they did was right, but it frees you from the bondage of bitterness. Jesus taught us to pray, "Forgive us our debts, as we also forgive our debtors" (Matthew 6:12), and He made it clear that our willingness to forgive others is directly tied to our own forgiveness before God.
Let us pray for you now:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We lift up this dear sister/brother who is experiencing physical and emotional pain when confronted with this situation. Lord, we ask that You would break every chain of fear, anxiety, and oppression that the enemy has tried to place upon them. We declare that by the stripes of Jesus, they are healed (Isaiah 53:5), and we command every spirit of affliction to leave their body right now in Jesus’ name. Fill them with Your peace, Lord, and restore their strength.
Father, we also pray for the person who has caused them pain. Soften their heart, Lord, and bring them to a place of humility and repentance. If it is Your will, bring reconciliation and closure, but if not, we ask that You would be their closure, Lord. Speak to their heart and let them know that You see their pain and are working all things together for their good (Romans 8:28).
We ask that You would reveal any areas of unforgiveness or bitterness in their heart, Lord. Give them the strength to release this person to You and to forgive, just as You have forgiven them. Heal their heart, Father, and restore their joy. Surround them with Your love and remind them that they are not alone—You are their refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1).
We thank You, Lord, for Your faithfulness and for hearing our prayer. We trust in Your promises and declare that this situation will turn around for Your glory. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
In the days ahead, we encourage you to spend time in God’s Word, meditating on His promises and allowing His truth to renew your mind. Psalm 34:18-19 says, "The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all." You are not alone in this battle, and the Lord is fighting for you. Continue to seek Him, and He will bring you the healing and closure you need.
