Beloved of All
Dear prayer group, I’m writing to ask for your prayers over a painful and ongoing situation within my family. My brother is severely mentally unwell. He calls me constantly — sometimes multiple times a day — often yelling, mocking, and being verbally abusive. It’s been emotionally draining, and though I’ve tried setting boundaries, I feel trapped. The reason I can’t walk away is because he controls access to my mother, who lives with him and refuses to leave. If I don’t answer his calls, he won’t allow me to speak to her. But I have no way to protect her or to convince her to leave. I’m stuck between trying to stay connected and being emotionally hurt every time I speak to him. I’ve tried to give excuses for needing rest, working, or being under medical treatment, but none of it stops the constant contact or abuse. I also ask for prayers about something specific: my brother has talked about going to Korea. I pray that, if it is God’s will, this trip would actually happen — and that it would be a step toward peace, distance, and healing. I’m praying that this could be a way for him to go his own way and release his hold over me and my mother. If it’s God’s will, I hope this door opens and brings lasting change. We already tried many prayers with church, pastors, missionaries and even medical professionals but nothing ever worked. My family been cursed by a family member that threatened us with black magic, my dad passed away recently form a blood clot, he had Parkinson’s and was very sick from leg surgery. Think my brother witnessing this made his behaviour worse. I need prayers for My protection and peace — emotionally, spiritually, and mentally. • Healing for my brother’s mind and any spiritual or emotional torment that drives his behaviour. • Protection for my mother, who refuses to leave but is in a vulnerable situation. • A way for me to speak with her peacefully, without enduring further abuse. • Wisdom to manage this situation and strength not to give up. • And if it is God’s will, that my brother’s trip to Korea happens — so he can move on, find his own path, and release this grip he has on me. I believe in the power of prayer and I know the Lord sees everything. Thank you for holding this burden with me in prayer. I’m doing my best, but I truly need God’s help now more than ever. Amen.

We lift you up in this heartbreaking and exhausting season, knowing that the Lord sees your suffering and hears your cries. Your love for your mother and your endurance in the face of such relentless abuse are a testament to your strength, yet we know this burden is far too heavy to bear alone. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10), but we stand firm in the truth that Christ has already overcome the world (John 16:33). Let us first address the spiritual warfare at play here, for this situation is not merely a battle of flesh and blood but against principalities and powers (Ephesians 6:12). The mention of curses and black magic is a serious matter, and we must declare the authority of Jesus Christ over every dark scheme. There is no power greater than the name of Jesus, and we command every curse, every spiritual stronghold, and every demonic influence to be broken in His mighty name. The blood of Jesus covers you, your mother, and even your brother, and we plead that protection over your household.

*"No weapon that is formed against you will prevail; and you will condemn every tongue that rises against you in judgment. This is the heritage of Yahweh’s servants, and their righteousness is from me," says Yahweh* (Isaiah 54:17).

Your brother’s behavior is deeply troubled, and while we pray for his healing, we must also acknowledge that his actions are sinful. Verbal abuse, manipulation, and control are not of God, and you are not required to endure them without boundary. The Lord calls us to love one another, but love does not mean enabling abuse or sacrificing your well-being indefinitely. Jesus Himself withdrew from those who sought to harm Him (Luke 4:28-30), and we must follow His example in setting godly boundaries. You have tried to reason with him, to seek help from others, and to extend grace, but his refusal to change does not mean you must remain in harm’s way. Proverbs 22:24-25 warns, *"Don’t befriend a hot-tempered man, and don’t associate with one who harbors anger: lest you learn his ways, and ensnare your soul."* While this verse speaks to associations, it underscores the danger of remaining in toxic environments without protection.

We pray for supernatural wisdom for you—wisdom to know when to engage, when to step back, and how to communicate with your mother without your brother’s interference. Ask the Lord for creative solutions, whether that means finding alternative ways to contact her, enlisting the help of a trusted third party, or even seeking legal counsel if necessary. *"If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach; and it will be given to him"* (James 1:5). Do not underestimate the power of fasting and prayer in this season. Jesus said some demons only come out by prayer and fasting (Matthew 17:21), and we believe this situation requires that level of spiritual intensity.

Regarding your brother’s potential trip to Korea, we join you in praying that if this is God’s will, He would open the door wide and use it as a means of separation and peace. If it is not His will, we pray He would provide another way for you and your mother to be freed from this oppression. Either way, we ask the Lord to move mightily. *"Deliver me, Yahweh, from my enemies. I flee to you to hide me. Teach me to do your will, for you are my God. Your Spirit is good. Lead me in the land of uprightness"* (Psalm 143:9-10).

We also pray for your mother’s heart to be softened and her eyes to be opened to the truth of her situation. The Lord can speak to her in dreams, through His Word, or through godly counsel. Pray that she would find the strength to seek safety, even if it means temporary separation from your brother. *"The Lord Yahweh is my strength. He makes my feet like deer’s feet, and enables me to go in high places"* (Habakkuk 3:19).

Lastly, we must address your spiritual and emotional well-being. You cannot pour from an empty cup, and the Lord desires for you to find rest in Him. *"Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart; and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light"* (Matthew 11:28-30). We encourage you to seek Christian counseling or a support group where you can process this trauma in a safe space. You are not failing by needing help—you are being wise.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up our sister who is weary, broken, and in desperate need of Your intervention. Lord, You see the abuse she endures, the fear she carries, and the love she has for her mother. We ask for Your supernatural protection over her mind, heart, and spirit. Shield her from the enemy’s attacks and fill her with Your peace that surpasses all understanding.

We rebuke every curse, every spiritual stronghold, and every demonic influence over this family in the name of Jesus. By the blood of the Lamb, we break every chain of manipulation, control, and abuse. We declare that no weapon formed against her will prosper, and every tongue that rises against her in judgment is condemned.

Lord, we pray for her brother’s salvation and healing. If he has not surrendered his life to You, we ask that You draw him to Yourself. Soften his heart, Lord, and deliver him from the torment that drives his behavior. If he knows You, then convict him deeply of his sin and lead him to repentance. We pray for a supernatural encounter with You that would change the course of his life.

Father, we ask for divine wisdom for our sister. Show her the steps to take, the words to speak, and the boundaries to set. Give her the courage to act and the discernment to know Your will. If it is Your plan for her brother to go to Korea, then open every door and remove every obstacle. Use this trip to bring separation, peace, and a breaking of his unhealthy control.

We lift up her mother to You, Lord. Protect her, provide for her, and open her eyes to the truth. Give her the strength to seek safety and the wisdom to know what that looks like. Surround her with Your angels and place godly people in her path who can help her.

Father, we ask for emotional and mental healing for our sister. Restore what has been stolen from her—her joy, her peace, and her hope. Remind her that she is not alone, that You are her refuge and strength. Fill her with Your Holy Spirit and renew her strength so she can rise above this storm.

We thank You, Lord, that You are a God who hears and answers prayer. We trust in Your timing and Your plan, even when we cannot see the way forward. Strengthen her faith and help her to keep her eyes fixed on You.

In the powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, we pray. Amen.
