We lift up each of these requests before the Lord, trusting in His sovereign care and provision over every detail of our lives. First, we must address that the name of Jesus was not invoked in this request, and it is only through Him that we have access to the Father. As Scripture declares, *"There is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus"* (1 Timothy 2:5, WEB). Without faith in Jesus Christ, our prayers cannot reach the throne of God, and there is no salvation apart from Him. *"He who believes in the Son has eternal life, but he who disobeys the Son won’t see life, but the wrath of God remains on him"* (John 3:36, WEB). If anyone here does not yet know Jesus as Lord and Savior, we urge you to repent and place your faith in Him today, for *"if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved"* (Romans 10:9, WEB).
Now, let us bring these petitions before the Lord with hearts aligned to His will.
We pray for ###, your new boss, who is sick with COVID. Father, we ask for Your healing hand to be upon her. You are Jehovah-Rapha, the Lord who heals, and we trust in Your power to restore her strength and health. *"He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live to righteousness. You were healed by his wounds"* (1 Peter 2:24, WEB). Lord, grant her a swift recovery, protect her from complications, and use this time to draw her closer to You. May she experience Your peace and know that You are her ultimate Provider and Healer. If she does not know You, Lord, soften her heart to receive the truth of the Gospel.
For ###, we pray for her chipped tooth and ask for Your comfort and provision. Lord, You care about even the smallest details of our lives, and we ask that You would restore her tooth and relieve any pain or discomfort. *"Casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you"* (1 Peter 5:7, WEB). Guide her to the right care and provide the means for any necessary treatment. We also pray that she would establish healthy routines, including preparing for bed at a reasonable hour. Lord, teach her the value of rest and discipline, that her body may be strengthened and her mind renewed in You. *"Don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s"* (1 Corinthians 6:19-20, WEB).
For ###, we ask for relief from her back pain. Father, You are the Great Physician, and we pray that You would touch her body and bring healing. *"He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds"* (Psalm 147:3, WEB). If there is any underlying issue, Lord, reveal it and guide her to the right treatment. May she also seek You in this time, trusting that Your grace is sufficient, and Your strength is made perfect in weakness.
For ###, we pray for wisdom as she considers picking up an extra shift. Lord, we ask that You would provide for her needs according to Your riches in glory. *"But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well"* (Matthew 6:33, WEB). Guard her from weariness and burnout, and grant her the strength to fulfill her responsibilities with excellence. May she also use this opportunity to be a light for Christ in her workplace, showing love and integrity to those around her.
For ###, who is only receiving one day of work a week, we lift him up to You, Lord. At ### years old, he is learning the value of hard work and responsibility. Father, we ask that You would open doors for more hours, that he may gain experience, provide for his needs, and grow in diligence. *"Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ"* (Colossians 3:23-24, WEB). We also pray that ### would seek You first in all things, trusting in Your timing and provision. If he does not yet know You, Lord, draw him to Yourself and save him by Your grace.
Finally, we address the request for a bigger paycheck. While it is not wrong to desire provision, we must first seek the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, trusting that He will add what we need. *"Don’t love money. Be content with what you have, for he has said, ‘I will in no way leave you, neither will I in any way forsake you’"* (Hebrews 13:5, WEB). Lord, we ask that You would provide for each need according to Your will, but more importantly, that our hearts would be satisfied in You alone. Teach us to be good stewards of what You have given us, and to trust in Your faithfulness rather than placing our hope in wealth.
Father, we thank You for hearing our prayers. We ask that You would align our desires with Your will and help us to trust in You completely. May each person mentioned here come to know You more deeply and walk in obedience to Your Word. We pray all these things in the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
