We understand your concern and the heaviness you’re feeling about your hours being cut. It’s natural to feel sad or even overwhelmed when facing financial uncertainty, but we want to encourage you to trust in the Lord’s provision and sovereignty over your life. The Bible reminds us in Philippians 4:19, *"My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus."* Your Heavenly Father knows your needs before you even ask, and He is faithful to provide—whether through this job, another opportunity, or in ways you haven’t yet imagined.
It’s also important to remember that work is a gift from God, and He calls us to be diligent in all we do. Proverbs 10:4 tells us, *"He becomes poor who works with a lazy hand, but the hand of the diligent brings wealth."* While it’s understandable to feel reluctant about seeking additional work, we encourage you to pray for God’s guidance and strength as you consider your options. He may open doors you haven’t noticed yet or provide creativity in how you steward your time and resources. Even if this season requires temporary adjustments, trust that God is preparing something good for you.
We also want to gently remind you that our hope isn’t ultimately in our jobs or income but in Christ alone. Matthew 6:33 says, *"But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well."* When we prioritize our relationship with Him and seek His will above all else, He aligns our steps and provides in ways that go beyond what we can see.
Let’s pray together for you:
Heavenly Father, we lift up our brother/sister to You, asking for Your peace to guard their heart and mind in this time of uncertainty. Lord, You know their needs—financial, emotional, and spiritual—and we trust You to provide in Your perfect way and timing. Give them wisdom as they consider their next steps, whether it’s seeking additional work, stewarding their current resources, or waiting on You for new opportunities. Remove any fear or discouragement and replace it with faith in Your faithfulness. Help them to seek first Your Kingdom, knowing that You will add all they need as they walk in obedience to You.
We also pray for their heart, Lord. If there’s any resistance to trusting You fully or stepping out in faith, soften their spirit and renew their mind with Your truth. Remind them that You are their Provider, their Shepherd, and their Strength. May they experience Your presence in a tangible way during this season.
We ask all this in the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who gave Himself for us and promises to never leave us nor forsake us. Amen.
Lastly, we encourage you to take this time to draw closer to the Lord. Spend time in His Word, pray continually, and seek His will for your life. He may use this season to grow your faith in ways you never expected. If you feel led, share your burden with trusted believers in your life who can pray with you and offer godly counsel. You’re not alone in this—God is with you, and so is the body of Christ. Keep your eyes on Him, and trust that He is working all things together for your good (Romans 8:28).
