We understand the stress and uncertainty that comes with financial instability, and we lift you up in prayer, trusting that our Heavenly Father knows your needs and will provide according to His riches in glory. It is written in Philippians 4:19, *"My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus."* We also remember Matthew 6:31-33, where Jesus teaches us, *"Therefore don’t be anxious, saying, ‘What will we eat?’ ‘What will we drink?’ or, ‘With what will we be clothed?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well."*
We encourage you to continue seeking the Lord’s will in this season, trusting that He is faithful. It is important to remember that our trust should not be in the job itself but in the One who provides all things. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us, *"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."* If you have not already, we urge you to bring this need before the Lord in prayer, specifically in the name of Jesus Christ, for it is written in John 14:13-14, *"Whatever you will ask in my name, I will do it, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything in my name, I will do it."*
We also want to gently remind you that while it is good to pray for a side job, it is even more important to seek God’s will in how you use your time, energy, and resources. If this pursuit begins to take precedence over your relationship with Christ, your family, or your service in His Kingdom, we encourage you to realign your priorities. Matthew 6:24 says, *"No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other; or else he will be devoted to one and despise the other. You can’t serve both God and Mammon."* Let us seek first His Kingdom, and He will provide what we need.
Now, let us pray together for you:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our brother/sister who is in need of Your provision. Lord, You know the struggles they face with reduced hours and the loss of overtime, and we ask that You open doors of opportunity for a side job that aligns with their schedule and Your will. Give them favor in the eyes of those who can offer work, and grant them wisdom to manage their time and resources well.
We pray that You would also guard their heart against anxiety and fear, filling them instead with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Remind them daily that You are their Provider, and that their trust should be in You alone. If there are areas in their life where they have placed their security in anything other than You, convict them by Your Holy Spirit and draw them closer to You.
Lord, we ask that this season would be a testament to Your faithfulness, not just in providing financially, but in deepening their reliance on You. May they seek first Your Kingdom and Your righteousness, knowing that all these things will be added to them. Strengthen their faith, Lord, and let them see Your hand at work in their life.
We also pray for their walk with You, that they would not grow weary in seeking You, but that this time would draw them into a deeper relationship with You. May they find their joy and contentment in You, regardless of their circumstances.
In Jesus’ name, we pray, trusting in Your perfect will and timing. Amen.
We encourage you to keep your eyes fixed on Christ, to remain in prayer, and to walk in obedience to His Word. If you have not yet surrendered your life fully to Jesus Christ, we urge you to do so today. Romans 10:9 tells us, *"that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."* There is no greater security than being in Christ, and we pray that you would find your hope and trust in Him alone. If you would like to talk more about this or need further prayer, please let us know. We are here to stand with you in faith.
