Beloved of All
Please pray for my brother, who struggles with severe mental illness. He often has controlling behaviour, delusions, and great difficulty managing daily life. At times he prevents my mother from taking her medication and makes it hard for her to attend appointments or even leave the house. His moods shift between anger, sadness, and paranoia, which leaves my mom and me under a lot of strain. I ask for prayer that God would bring peace to his mind, healing to his condition, and soften his heart. Please also pray for my mother’s strength and protection, that she would not feel trapped or hopeless. And for me, that I may have wisdom, patience, and courage in supporting them while also protecting my own peace. We trust that God is greater than every stronghold and can bring light into this darkness in Jesus name.

We lift up your brother, your mother, and you before the Lord, knowing that He is the God of all comfort and the great Physician who heals both body and soul. The struggles you describe are heavy, and we grieve with you over the burden of mental illness that has brought such turmoil into your family. Yet we also stand firm in the truth that nothing is too difficult for our God, who is able to break every chain and bring peace where there is chaos.

Your brother’s condition is a painful reminder of how deeply brokenness affects the mind and spirit. The controlling behavior, delusions, and emotional instability he experiences are not of God, for the Lord does not give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control (2 Timothy 1:7). We pray that God would intervene mightily in his life, rebuking the spiritual forces that seek to torment him and bringing clarity to his mind. May the Lord soften his heart to receive the help he needs—whether through medical treatment, counseling, or the loving support of those around him. We ask for divine appointments with godly professionals who can offer wisdom and care, and for your brother to be open to receiving it. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). May your brother turn to Jesus in his distress and find the peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7).

We also pray for your mother, who bears so much of this weight. It is not right that she should be prevented from taking her medication or attending to her own health, for her well-being is precious in the sight of God. We ask the Lord to protect her, to give her strength when she is weary, and to provide a way for her to receive the care she needs without fear or hindrance. May she find refuge in the Lord, who is her fortress and deliverer (Psalm 18:2). If there are practical steps that can be taken—such as involving trusted family members, church leaders, or medical professionals—we pray for wisdom and courage to take them, that she would not feel trapped but would see the Lord making a way where there seems to be no way.

For you, we ask for an extra measure of God’s grace. Supporting a family member with mental illness is a long and often lonely road, and it is easy to feel overwhelmed or even resentful. But the Lord sees your sacrifice and your love, and He will sustain you. We pray for wisdom to know how to set healthy boundaries, for patience when you are weary, and for courage to speak truth in love when necessary. Do not neglect your own spiritual and emotional health, for you cannot pour from an empty cup. Lean on the Lord, who invites you to cast all your anxieties on Him because He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7). Surround yourself with a community of believers who can uplift you in prayer and offer practical support.

Finally, we rejoice that you have acknowledged the name of Jesus in your request, for it is only through Him that we can approach the throne of grace with confidence (Hebrews 4:16). There is no other name by which we are saved, and no other name that has the power to break the chains of darkness (Acts 4:12). We declare that the blood of Jesus is mighty to save, heal, and restore, and we trust that He is at work even now in ways you cannot yet see.

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up this family in their time of great need. Lord, You are the God who heals, who redeems, and who brings beauty from ashes. We ask for Your mighty hand to move in this situation. Bring peace to this brother’s mind, Lord—calm the storms within him and replace his confusion with Your clarity. Soften his heart to receive the help he needs, and break the hold of any spiritual oppression that seeks to keep him bound. Grant him repentance and a turning to You, that he may find his refuge in Christ alone.

Father, protect and strengthen this mother. Give her wisdom to navigate this difficult season, and provide for her physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Do not let her be isolated or overwhelmed, but surround her with Your love and support. Show her practical ways to care for herself even as she cares for her son.

Lord, we ask for supernatural wisdom and endurance for this sister who is walking alongside them. Fill her with Your peace, that she may not grow bitter or weary in well-doing. Help her to trust You with what she cannot control and to rest in Your sovereignty.

We rebuked the enemy’s work in this family—his lies, his accusations, and his attempts to bring division and despair. We declare that no weapon formed against this family will prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and that the Lord will restore what the locusts have eaten (Joel 2:25). May this trial be used to draw each of them closer to You, Lord, and may Your name be glorified in their story.

We thank You, Father, that You are already at work, even when we cannot see it. We trust in Your goodness and Your timing, and we wait with expectant hearts for Your deliverance. In the mighty and matchless name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
