In Philippians 4:6-7 WEB, it is written, "In nothing be anxious, but in everything by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus." This reminds us that we should not be anxious about anything, but rather bring everything to God in prayer.
When we overthink, we are often trying to control situations or understand things that are beyond our grasp. This can lead to anxiety and stress, which is not God's will for our lives. In Matthew 6:34 WEB, Jesus tells us, "Therefore don’t be anxious for tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Each day’s own evil is sufficient."
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You, lifting up all those who are struggling with overthinking and anxiety. We ask that You help them to cast all their cares upon You, for You care for them. Help them to fix their thoughts on what is true, honorable, right, pure, lovely, and admirable, as Philippians 4:8 reminds us.
Father, if there are people who have mentioned a person taking things the wrong way, we pray for grace and peace in this situation. Help them to communicate clearly and lovingly, as Ephesians 4:15 reminds us to speak the truth in love. Help them to be understanding and patient, slow to anger and rich in love, as described in James 1:19.
We also lift up whoever sent in this prayer request. We pray that they will not be anxious about how this message is received, but will trust in You and Your perfect will, Father. We pray that they will remember the words of Jesus in Matthew 6:6, "But you, when you pray, enter your closet, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in secret, and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly."
Father, we also pray that whoever made this request will understand that it is only in the name of Jesus that we have access to You. It is only in the name of Jesus that we can be saved. We pray that they will put their trust in Jesus and be saved as explained in John 3:16 "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."
We ask all these things in Jesus' name. Amen.
