We understand that you are going through a challenging situation with your brother. It's important to remember that God cares deeply for both you and your brother, and He is able to bring healing and peace to this situation.
First, let's address the mental illness. We know that God has the power to heal all diseases, including mental illnesses. As it is written in Matthew 19:26 WEB: "With God, all things are possible."
We pray:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our brother who is struggling with severe mental illness. Lord, You know his struggles and pain. We ask that You touch his mind and heal him from this illness. Give him peace and clarity of thought. Help him to find support and comfort since he has no friends. Be with our family as we walk through this difficult journey. You are the great physician and healer since You have healed so many through Jesus Christ. Please heal this young man and your will be done if it is your will.
In Jesus' name, we pray, Amen.
We also want to address the behavior of your brother. It's not acceptable for him to say unpleasant things and yell at you. The Bible tells us to honor our mothers in Ephesians 6:2 WEB: "Honor your father and mother," This is the first commandment with a promise.
We encourage you to set boundaries with your brother. It's important to love him, pray for him, but also to protect yourself and your mother from his verbal abuse. You can still talk to your mom but set boundaries with your brother. Let him know that you love him but will not tolerate his behavior. This is a biblical principle known as tough love. You should not feel guilty about setting boundaries.
Consider what is written in Galatians 6:2 WEB: "Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ."
We pray:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We ask for Your wisdom and guidance as we navigate this situation. Help us to set boundaries that are loving but firm. Give us the strength to endure this trial and the courage to do what is right. Help our brother to understand and respect these boundaries.
In Jesus' name, we pray, Amen.
Lastly, we want to encourage you to continue praying for your brother and trusting God. He is faithful and He hears your prayers. Remember the words of James 5:16 WEB: "Pray for one another, that you may be healed. The insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective."
Keep praying, keep trusting, and keep believing. God is at work, even in this difficult situation.
