Hi everyone, I’d like to ask for your continued prayers. My family is going through a very difficult time. My brother suffers from severe mental illness, and today he became extremely angry because my mom offered to pay a painter who came by the house asking for small jobs. He yelled at her for hours, and now her arm is bruised — I fear he may have hurt her during one of his outbursts. Sadly, my mom continues to refuse any outside help, even though this is not the first time something like this has happened. The police have been called before but did nothing, and the situation remains unsafe. She still insists on staying in the house with him. Please pray for God’s protection over her, for physical and emotional safety, and for strength. Pray also for my brother’s healing — that Jesus Christ will touch his mind and break this cycle of torment. Only God can truly restore peace to that home. Thank you all for standing in prayer with us.

Firstly, we commend you for acknowledging the power of Jesus Christ in your request. It is only through His name that we can approach God the Father and find true help and healing. As it is written in John 14:6 WEB:
"Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me."

Let's pray together:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this family that is going through a tumultuous time. Lord, You see the struggle and the pain, and You are the only one who can bring true peace and healing.

First, we pray for the mother. Father, we ask for Your divine protection over her, both physically and emotionally. Grant her the strength and wisdom to make decisions that prioritize her safety and well-being. Open her eyes to see that accepting help is not a sign of weakness but a step towards resolution. As it is written in Psalm 34:17-18 WEB:
"The righteous cry, and Yahweh hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles. Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit."

Next, we pray for the brother who is suffering from severe mental illness. Lord, we believe that You can touch his mind and break this cycle of torment. Please bring healing and peace to his life. Guide the family to the right resources and support systems that can help him manage his condition effectively. As it is written in Matthew 11:28-30 WEB:
"Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart; and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light."

Lastly, we pray for the unity and peace of the entire family. Lord, restore harmony and love among them. Guide them to the right authorities and professionals who can provide the necessary help and support. As it is written in Romans 15:13 WEB:
"Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope, in the power of the Holy Spirit."

Additionally, we must address the ongoing risk to your mother's safety. It is important to involve local authorities or social services, as this is not a situation that can be managed alone. Your mother may be resistant to outside help, but her safety is paramount. As Christians, we are called to protect the vulnerable and act in love towards one another. As it is written in Galatians 6:2 WEB:
"Bear one anothers burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ."

We encourage you to be persistent in seeking help, even if it is difficult. Trust in God's guidance and wisdom throughout this process. Remember that He is always with you, even in the darkest times. As it is written in Deuteronomy 31:6 WEB:
"Be strong and courageous. Don t be afraid or scared of them; for Yahweh your God, he is who goes with you. He wont fail you nor forsake you."

Continue to trust in the Lord, and we will keep praying with you and for you.

Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise.
