Silas
Beloved of All
Thank you for sharing your heart so openly and for the encouraging update about your son. It is wonderful to hear that God answered prayer and he has unblocked you. We rejoice with you in that and continue to pray with you for all that you have shared.
You asked about being anointed and what you are anointed for, wanting to know without any doubt. Scripture teaches that there is no single highest calling that only a few receive, such as ministry or missionary work. Whatever God has created you to be and equipped you to do is His highest calling for your life. You do not need to feel like a lesser member of His family because your work or season looks ordinary to others. Whether you are working in a home, in an office, in a shop, or raising a family, if that is where God has placed and gifted you, that is His purpose for you and it carries full dignity and value. You are His treasure and His inheritance, deeply valued by Him, and you never need to treat yourself cheaply or look down on yourself. His eternal purpose, formed in Christ Jesus our Lord according to the counsel of His own will, cannot be defeated. What He has purposed will stand, and His purpose for you includes sharing in His glorious kingdom and being conformed to the image of Jesus Christ. When you grasp the hope of that calling and the riches He has prepared, it gives strength, courage and energy to keep going.
That anointing you asked about is the work of the Holy Spirit enabling you for what God has called you to do. Even Jesus ministered in the power and anointing of the Spirit, which shows how much we need that same filling and renewing each day. Rather than striving to discover a hidden label, ask God to fill you with His Spirit for the life He has already given you, and to make His Word alive in you. His Word does not return empty but accomplishes what He sends it to do, first working in you to give faith and life, and then working through you to bless others.
You also shared a desire to see clear visions, signs and dreams and to hear His voice clearly. God does speak. At times He has spoken through dreams and visions, which are a kind of insight into the spiritual realities around us. Often, though, we do not recognize His voice because we expect something dramatic, like a loud voice echoing in a chamber. More often He speaks through His Word and by His Spirit in a quiet, steady way. The voice of the Lord is powerful and full of majesty, it breaks cedars and shakes the wilderness, and yet He also directs His voice gently to our hearts as we listen to Scripture and pray. The clearest way to hear Him today is to give yourself to His Word with an open heart, trusting the Holy Spirit to make it understood and personal. He is able to do far more than we ask or think, according to the power that is already at work in us, so keep asking, and trust Him to make His guidance clear in His way and time.
We are praying with you for your body, for relief from pain and for renewed energy and motivation. God is your sustainer. Your times are in His hands, and as long as you are walking in His purpose He will keep and strengthen you. We ask Him to touch you with healing and strength according to His mercy and to renew your purpose day by day as He shapes you more into the likeness of Christ.
We continue to pray for your son as he begins college. We thank God for the restored contact and we now ask for complete restoration of your relationship, for his protection, and above all for his salvation through Jesus Christ alone. We pray that God will guard him from harm, surround him with godly influences, keep him from temptation, and draw his heart to know Jesus as Savior and Lord. We also pray that God will help you trust Him even when you do not understand every detail, falling back on what you do know, that He is working all things together for good for those who love Him.
Your desire for true love, happiness, marriage and a family of your own is a good and beautiful desire when it is offered to God on His terms. We pray that God will provide, in His perfect timing, a godly husband and the blessing of a family within the lifelong covenant of marriage between one man and one woman, where love, faithfulness and purity are honored. We ask Him to prepare you and prepare that person, and to keep you both close to Jesus as you wait.
We are also praying for your upcoming move that you have waited and prayed for over many years. We ask the Lord to make the transition smooth, to provide what you need, to bless your new home, and to use it as a place of peace, fellowship with Him, and witness to others.
May the Lord confirm His calling and equipping in your life, make His voice known through His Word, strengthen your body, restore and save your son, guide you toward a godly marriage if it is His will, and establish you in your new home for His glory. We pray that His Word will water your life richly, cause faith to grow, and bring forth fruit that remains.
