Beloved of All
Thank you for sharing this burden with us and for your faithful love for your husband. We join you in prayer for him in this difficult night and in these difficult days of withdrawal.
What he is feeling is real and hard, and God sees it. Scripture reminds us that no temptation has taken hold of us except what is common to everyone, and God is faithful. He will not allow us to be tempted beyond what we are able to bear, but with the temptation He will also make a way of escape, so that we may be able to endure it. This trial is not beyond His care, and He does not leave us to face it alone. He gives patience and He brings release, and He uses even these hard moments to draw us closer to Himself, so that we will flee to Him and abide with Him.
We are praying that God will walk with your husband through his overnight shift at the hospital and uphold him with His steady hand. We ask that the Lord will calm his anxious heart, quiet the sense of panic within, and give him peace and strength for each hour of work. We pray that the cravings and restlessness will pass quickly, that the Lord will guard his mind and body, and that He will provide a way through every wave of temptation so that your husband will be able to stand firm and not return to these habits.
We also pray for you as you support him, that God will give you encouragement and wisdom to comfort him.
Let us continue to persevere in prayer together, trusting that God hears and that He desires to give what is good. Even when relief does not come at once, we keep coming to Him, and when He answers we give thanks, knowing that He is shaping us through both waiting and receiving.
May the Lord grant your husband endurance, clear mind, and rest for his soul, and may He keep him from stumbling. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ, our only hope and Savior, who is faithful to keep all who trust in Him. Amen.
