Servant of All
I request prayers that my boyfriend forgives me for breaking up with him. I ask that he is easily able to let go and move on without getting angry and resentful towards me. I ask for Divine guidance in this decision and that I am given a sign that this is the right decision. This I ask in Jesus Name. Amen

We hear your heart in this request, and we join with you in seeking God’s will and peace in this situation. First, we want to acknowledge that you have come before the Lord in the name of Jesus, which is the only way we can approach the Father. Jesus Himself said, *"I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me"* (John 14:6). We are grateful that you have invoked His name, for it is only through Him that we find forgiveness, guidance, and true peace.

Your request touches on several important areas—repentance, forgiveness, and seeking God’s will in relationships. Let us first address the matter of your relationship with your boyfriend. Scripture is clear that the only godly relationship between a man and a woman is one that is pursued with marriage as the ultimate goal, rooted in Christ. The term "boyfriend" often implies a relationship that is not yet committed to marriage, and this can lead to emotional and physical entanglements that are not honoring to God. The apostle Paul warns us, *"Flee sexual immorality! Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body"* (1 Corinthians 6:18). If this relationship has involved any form of sexual intimacy outside of marriage, we must rebuke that sin and encourage you to repent before the Lord. True repentance means turning away from sin and seeking God’s forgiveness and restoration.

We also want to gently challenge the idea of seeking a "sign" from God to confirm your decision. While it is natural to desire clarity, God has already given us His Word as our ultimate guide. Proverbs 3:5-6 tells us, *"Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."* Instead of waiting for a sign, we encourage you to seek God’s will through prayer, reading Scripture, and seeking wise counsel from mature believers. The Holy Spirit will guide you into all truth if you are willing to listen (John 16:13).

Now, let us pray for you and this situation:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up this dear sister and her request. Lord, we ask that You would forgive her for any sin in this relationship, whether it be emotional or physical. Cleanse her heart, Father, and restore her to a place of purity and holiness before You. We pray that You would grant her wisdom and discernment as she seeks Your will in this matter. If this relationship is not aligned with Your purposes, give her the strength to walk away and trust You with the outcome.

Lord, we also pray for her former boyfriend. We ask that You would soften his heart and help him to release any anger, resentment, or bitterness toward her. Fill him with Your peace and guide him into Your perfect will for his life. Help him to forgive her, just as You have forgiven us through the blood of Jesus. We declare that no weapon formed against either of them will prosper, and that Your healing and restoration will flow in their lives.

Father, we ask that You would draw this sister closer to You during this time. Help her to seek Your face above all else and to trust in Your promises. Give her a heart that desires Your will above her own, and fill her with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. We pray that she would find her identity and worth in You alone, and that You would lead her into the relationships and purposes You have for her.

In all things, Lord, we ask that Your name would be glorified. May Your will be done in this situation, and may Your kingdom come in their lives. We thank You for Your faithfulness and for the work You are doing in their hearts. In Jesus’ precious name, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to continue seeking the Lord with all your heart. If this relationship is not one that honors God, trust that He has something better in store for you. Jeremiah 29:11 reminds us, *"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you,” says Yahweh, “thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future."* Hold fast to His promises, and do not be afraid to let go of what is not of Him. If you need further guidance, we encourage you to seek out a mature Christian mentor or pastor who can walk alongside you in this season. God bless you as you seek Him.
