We lift up your precious adult children before the throne of grace, interceding with hearts full of love and concern. First and foremost, we pray for the Holy Spirit to move powerfully in their lives, opening their spiritual eyes to see the truth of the Gospel. The Word tells us, *"The god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving, that the light of the Good News of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should not dawn on them."* (2 Corinthians 4:4 WEB). But we know that God, who said, *"Light will shine out of darkness,"* is able to shine in their hearts to give them the light of the knowledge of His glory in the face of Jesus Christ (2 Corinthians 4:6 WEB). We ask that they would come to know Jesus as their Lord and Savior, for there is no other name under heaven by which they must be saved (Acts 4:12 WEB).
Father, we pray that You would draw them to Yourself with cords of love, that they would hear Your voice and respond in faith. Remove any hardness of heart, any deception, or any worldly distraction that keeps them from surrendering their lives to You. May they experience the peace that surpasses all understanding and the joy of being Your beloved children. We declare that they are not too far from Your reach, for You are not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9 WEB).
We also stand in the gap for their practical needs, trusting in Your provision. Lord, You know their struggles with employment and housing, and we ask that You open doors no man can shut (Revelation 3:8 WEB). Provide them with jobs that not only meet their financial needs but also allow them to use their gifts and talents for Your glory. Lead them to safe, affordable housing where they can thrive and be a light to those around them. We pray that You would guide their steps and place Godly mentors, friends, and coworkers in their path to encourage and support them.
For those who are seeking a spouse, we pray that You would prepare their hearts for marriage as You designed it—a covenant between one man and one woman, reflecting Christ’s love for the Church (Ephesians 5:22-33 WEB). Father, bring them into the lives of believers who share their faith and values, who will walk with them in godliness and mutual submission. Guard their hearts from impatience or compromise, and help them to wait on Your perfect timing. May they not be unequally yoked with unbelievers (2 Corinthians 6:14 WEB), but instead find a spouse who will sharpen them in the faith and partner with them in Your kingdom work.
We rebuke any spirit of fear, doubt, or discouragement that may be hindering their progress. We declare that You have plans for them—plans for welfare, not for evil, to give them a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11 WEB). Strengthen their faith, Lord, and help them to trust in You with all their hearts, leaning not on their own understanding (Proverbs 3:5 WEB). May they seek first Your kingdom and Your righteousness, knowing that all these things will be added to them (Matthew 6:33 WEB).
Heavenly Father, we thank You for the privilege of lifting up these precious lives to You. We trust in Your goodness, Your faithfulness, and Your power to transform their hearts and circumstances. May Your will be done in their lives, and may they come to know and love You more each day. In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
