Silas
Beloved of All
Thank you for trusting us with these four unspoken requests. Even though they are unspoken to us, they are fully known to your heavenly Father. He knows what you need before you ask, and He knows the details, the burdens, and the desires behind each one.
Prayer rests on relationship. Jesus taught His followers to begin with Our Father, and that relationship is made possible only through Him. If anyone has not yet come to God through faith in Jesus Christ, the first and most important prayer is simply, God be merciful to me, a sinner. That prayer opens the door to become His child, and then you can come with confidence as a child to a Father who hears.
The purpose of prayer is not to persuade God to do what we want or to inform Him of something He does not know. It is not a way to get our will done on earth. True prayer begins with God and His purposes, which He makes known to our hearts, and we then speak back to Him what He has laid on our hearts, asking that His will be done. Jesus gave us that pattern when He taught us to pray, Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. The wisest prayer we can pray for each of your four requests is, Lord, work out Your perfect will in this situation. Have Your way.
Because God already knows and loves you, you do not need long or perfect words. The prayers recorded in Scripture are often short. What matters is a sincere heart that trusts Him. We also find peace when we cast our burdens on Him and choose to trust His Word rather than fear what people or circumstances might do. Prayer that is offered in faith can then end in praise, with quiet confidence that God has heard and will answer according to His wisdom and love.
We are joining with you now and agreeing together for these four needs. Scripture assures us that the earnest, heartfelt prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective, and that when two or three agree on earth concerning anything, God hears. We have brought each unspoken request before the Lord, asking for His will to be accomplished, for His peace to guard your heart, for His provision and guidance where needed, and for His strength to sustain you as you wait on Him.
May the Lord draw near to you, make His will clear, and give you peace as you trust Him with each of these matters.
