Your request for prayer for the protection of your eyesight has been heard and I am joining you in prayer for this need.
The Bible speaks often about vision, and it helps us understand what sight really is. With our natural eyes we see the physical world around us, but there is also a spiritual realm all around us that we cannot see unless God opens our eyes to it. When God gives a vision, He is allowing a person who is awake and aware to see into that spiritual realm, even to see things past, present, or yet to come, because the spirit realm is not bound by time as we are. The same God who is able to open our eyes to see what is unseen is certainly able to guard and keep the physical sight He has given you. Your eyes are precious to Him, and He is fully able to protect them.
I also hear the concern and fear that can come with a threat to your eyesight, and Scripture speaks directly to that fear. God so often comes to His people saying, do not be afraid. To Abram He said in a vision, do not be afraid, I am your shield. To Daniel when he was overwhelmed and had fallen on his face, the messenger touched him, set him upright, and said fear not. To John when he fell as though dead at the sight of the risen Jesus, the Lord laid His hand on him and said fear not, I am the first and the last. The promise given through Isaiah is still true, fear not for I am with you, be not dismayed for I am your God, I will help you, I will strengthen you, I will uphold you with the right hand of my power. Remembering that the Lord is with you is the cure for fear. Fear and faith cannot rule the heart at the same time. Where faith and confidence in God grows, fear must leave.
That does not mean we ignore practical wisdom. We do what is wise and prudent to care for the body God has given us, including seeking good medical care for your eyes when needed, but we do it trusting God rather than driven by fear of what might happen. If God desires to protect you, He can protect you wherever you are. Whatever your need is, Jesus becomes that to you. If you need healing, He is your healer. If you need provision and strength, He becomes that as well.
So I am praying for you now, that the Lord who made your eyes will keep them and guard them. May He protect your eyesight, grant wisdom to any doctors who care for you, remove fear and fill you with His peace, and strengthen you with the assurance that He is your shield and He is with you. May He touch you and lift you up as He did for Daniel, and may you rest in the hands of Jesus who holds all things and who lives forever.
