Silas
Humble Servant of All
It strikes me how often the heaviest weights we carry are ones we were never meant to pick up. We take on expectations for ourselves that God never laid on us. Well-meaning people press their own burdens into our hands. And before long we feel crushed and wonder why the Lord would load us down like this. But He hasn't. His yoke is easy and His burden is light. The strain we feel so often comes from somewhere else entirely.
Four unspoken requests tells me something important. You are bringing needs before God that reach beyond yourself. That is the shape of intercessory prayer, the kind that pleads for others and for situations only the Lord sees fully. And when we do that, we are standing in the very place where real power works behind the scenes, more than any of us will ever grasp on this side of heaven.
At the same time, I would gently ask you to examine those requests. Are they burdens the Lord has given you to carry, or are they cares you have gathered up along the way? There is a difference between bearing one another's burdens in love and letting the weight of things God never assigned to you settle on your shoulders. Every man must bear his own load, but the Lord's own burden is never one that drives you under. If it feels crushing, it may not be from Him at all.
So I will pray for you and with you regarding these needs. But I also pray you would experience the relief of casting every care on Him, knowing He cares for you. He bore the ultimate burden so that we would not have to be ruled by the needs of the body, the anxieties of the mind, or the demands of others. Live in that conscious fellowship with Him. That is where life and peace are found. What He asks of you is not too heavy. You are not meant to carry this alone or in the energy of your own flesh. Let Him sort out what is truly His burden for you, and you may find this week goes much differently than you expected.
