We lift up your six unspoken prayer requests before the throne of grace, trusting that the Holy Spirit intercedes for you with groanings too deep for words, just as Romans 8:26 tells us, "In the same way, the Spirit also helps our weaknesses, for we don’t know how to pray as we ought. But the Spirit himself makes intercession for us with groanings which can’t be uttered." Though we may not know the specifics of your burdens, we know that our Heavenly Father sees your heart and hears your cries.
We come before you, Lord, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). Father, we ask that you would move powerfully in each of these six areas of this dear one’s life. You know the depths of their struggles, their fears, and their desires. We ask that you would bring healing where there is pain, peace where there is anxiety, provision where there is lack, and clarity where there is confusion. Let your will be done in each of these situations, for your Word declares in Jeremiah 29:11, "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future."
We rebuke any spirit of fear, doubt, or despair that may be attempting to take hold in their life. The Bible tells us in 2 Timothy 1:7, "For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control." We declare that this child of God is not subject to fear but is empowered by the Holy Spirit to walk in victory. We also rebuke any lies of the enemy that may be whispering discouragement or hopelessness. Jesus said in John 8:32, "You will know the truth, and the truth will make you free." We pray that the truth of God’s Word would saturate their mind and heart, driving out every lie.
If any of these unspoken requests involve relationships or moral struggles, we pray specifically for godly wisdom and discernment. If there is any area of their life where they are not aligning with Your Word, Lord, we ask that You convict their heart gently but firmly. For those who may be struggling with sexual sin, whether it be fornication, adultery, or homosexuality, we pray for repentance and restoration. Your Word is clear in 1 Corinthians 6:18-20, "Flee sexual immorality! ‘Every sin that a man does is outside the body,’ but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s." We pray for strength to flee temptation and for a heart that desires purity.
If marriage is on their heart, we pray for a godly spouse who loves the Lord and seeks to honor Him in all things. Proverbs 18:22 reminds us, "Whoever finds a wife finds a good thing, and obtains favor of Yahweh." May they seek a spouse who shares their faith and commitment to You, Lord, and may their relationship be built on the foundation of Christ.
We also pray for their spiritual growth and intimacy with You, Father. May they draw near to You, and may You draw near to them (James 4:8). Strengthen their faith, deepen their trust, and fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Whatever these six requests may be, we trust that You are working all things together for their good, as You have promised in Romans 8:28, "We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, for those who are called according to his purpose."
We declare that no weapon formed against them will prosper (Isaiah 54:17) and that You will complete the good work You have begun in them (Philippians 1:6). We stand in agreement with this dear one, believing that Your hand is upon their life and that Your purposes for them will prevail. In the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
