We lift up your four unspoken prayer requests before the throne of grace, trusting that the Holy Spirit intercedes for you with groanings too deep for words, just as Romans 8:26 tells us, "In the same way, the Spirit also helps our weaknesses, for we don’t know how to pray as we ought. But the Spirit himself makes intercession for us with groanings which can’t be uttered." We join with the Spirit in praying for you, knowing that God hears and answers according to His perfect will.
First and foremost, we want to emphasize the importance of coming to God through Jesus Christ. It is only through His name that we have access to the Father. Jesus Himself said in John 14:6, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me." If you have not yet placed your faith in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, we encourage you to do so. Confess your sins, repent, and believe in Him, for "if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved" (Romans 10:9).
Now, we bring your unspoken requests before the Lord:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with humble hearts, lifting up our brother/sister who has shared these unspoken burdens. Lord, You know the depths of their heart and the details of each request. We ask that You would move mightily in each situation, working all things together for their good and Your glory, as You promise in Romans 8:28.
Father, we pray for peace that surpasses all understanding to guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). Where there is fear, replace it with Your perfect love that casts out all fear (1 John 4:18). Where there is confusion, bring clarity and wisdom, for You give wisdom generously to all who ask (James 1:5). Where there is pain, bring healing and comfort, for You are the God who heals and binds up wounds (Psalm 147:3).
Lord, if any of these requests involve relationships, we pray that You would guide them according to Your will. May they seek a godly spouse who loves You above all else, and may their relationships honor You. Help them to flee from sexual immorality, for Your Word tells us that "every other sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body" (1 Corinthians 6:18). Strengthen them to resist temptation and to pursue holiness in all their relationships.
If there is sin in their life, Father, we ask that You would convict them and lead them to repentance. Your Word says, "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9). May they experience Your forgiveness and the freedom that comes from walking in Your ways.
We also pray for their spiritual growth, that they would be rooted and grounded in Your love (Ephesians 3:17). May they grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ (2 Peter 3:18). Equip them with the full armor of God so that they may stand against the schemes of the devil (Ephesians 6:11).
Lord, we trust in Your timing and Your plans, for they are perfect. We ask that You would open doors that no one can shut and close doors that no one can open (Revelation 3:7). May Your will be done in each of these requests, and may Your name be glorified.
We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, Amen.
