Prayers please

Please pray for me as I make one last prayer as I can’t pray for ### anymore a prayer of release. I am placing my ex fully on God’s altar and leaving her there. From now on, I ask the Lord that every stray thought I have of her be counted as a prayer that she comes to Christ and finds the healing and help she needs. I want to trust God fully with her life and free my own heart to follow His will with all that I am.

We join you in lifting this prayer of release, surrender, and trust to our Heavenly Father, knowing that only through the name of Jesus Christ do we have the authority and power to lay our burdens at His feet. It is by His name alone that we are saved, healed, and set free, for *"there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men, by which we must be saved"* (Acts 4:12, WEB). We are grateful you are turning to Him in this moment, for He is faithful to complete the work He has begun in both your life and hers.

Your heart’s cry reflects a deep desire to align with God’s will, and we commend you for choosing to trust Him fully with this woman’s life. The act of placing her on God’s altar is an act of worship, acknowledging that He alone is sovereign over her soul, her healing, and her future. As you release her into His hands, remember the words of Jesus: *"Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart; and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light"* (Matthew 11:28-30, WEB). You are no longer carrying this burden—He is.

Yet we must also address something vital: your mention of "stray thoughts" reveals that your heart may still be emotionally tied to her in ways that could hinder the fullness of what God wants to do in *your* life. While it is noble to pray for her salvation and healing, we gently remind you that God calls us to guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). If these thoughts become a snare—leading to longing, bitterness, or distraction from God’s purpose for you—then we must ask the Lord to renew our minds and redirect our focus entirely to Him. *"Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report; if there is any virtue, and if there is any praise, think about these things"* (Philippians 4:8, WEB). Let every thought be captive to Christ, not to the past.

We also encourage you to examine whether this release is complete. Have you forgiven her as Christ has forgiven you? Unforgiveness can be a subtle chain that keeps us bound even after we think we’ve let go. *"And whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone; so that your Father, who is in heaven, may also forgive you your transgressions"* (Mark 11:25, WEB). Forgiveness does not mean what she did was right or that you must reconcile—it means you are choosing to release her to God’s justice and mercy, trusting Him to handle what you cannot.

Now, let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty and holy name of Jesus Christ, lifting our brother to Your throne of grace. Lord, we thank You that he has chosen to surrender this woman—his former spouse—fully into Your hands. We declare that she is Yours, Father, and we ask that You would draw her to Yourself with cords of lovingkindness. Softens her heart to receive Your truth, Lord. If she has not yet surrendered to Christ, we pray that today would be the day of her salvation. Open her eyes to see her need for a Savior, and let her encounter the transforming power of Your love. Heal her wounds, Father, whether they be from this broken relationship or from past hurts. Restore her soul and lead her into the fullness of life You have prepared for her.

For our brother, we ask for a supernatural release. Lord, sever every emotional and spiritual tie that remains between them, ties that are not of You. Fill the void in his heart with more of Your presence, Your peace, and Your purpose. When stray thoughts arise, let them be immediately redirected to intercession for her salvation—and then let his mind be renewed by Your Word. Guard his heart from nostalgia, regret, or any form of idolatrous attachment. Help him to see her through Your eyes: as a soul You love, but not as someone he must cling to.

Father, if there is any unforgiveness in his heart, we ask that You would reveal it and empower him to release it fully. Let him walk in the freedom of Christ, unburdened by the past. Surround him with godly community, with brothers and sisters in Christ who will encourage him, pray with him, and hold him accountable to walk in Your will.

Most of all, Lord, we pray that You would make his path clear. If it is Your will for him to remain single for a season, grant him contentment and a deepened relationship with You. If it is Your will for him to pursue marriage again, prepare him to be a godly husband to a woman who loves You wholeheartedly. Let him seek first Your kingdom and Your righteousness, trusting that all things will be added to him in Your perfect timing.

We rebuke any spirit of loneliness, despair, or double-mindedness that would try to creep in. We declare that our brother is *yours*, Lord, and his future is secure in Your hands. Fill him with hope, with vision, and with a passion to serve You above all else.

We ask all these things in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who alone is worthy of our trust and devotion. Amen.

Finally, we leave you with this encouragement: *"Don’t be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God"* (Romans 12:2, WEB). As you release her to God, He is preparing *you* for what lies ahead. Stay rooted in His Word, in prayer, and in fellowship with believers who will walk alongside you. The Lord is faithful, and He will complete the work He has begun in you.

We're right there with you, friend, lifting this prayer of release and surrender to our Heavenly Father. We trust that He who began this work in both of your lives will be faithful to complete it. It's beautiful to see you aligning your will with God's, placing her fully on His altar, and leaving her in His capable hands.

Let's remember together the words of Jeremiah 29:11, "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Trust that God has a purpose in this, and He will use it for your good and His glory.

We also want to encourage you to keep your heart and mind focused on Jesus. As you've mentioned stray thoughts, let's ask the Lord to renew your mind and redirect your focus entirely to Him. Let every thought be captive to Christ, not to the past. As it says in Philippians 4:8, "Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good report, if there is any virtue, and if there is any praise, think about these things."

Let's also ensure that this release is complete. Have you forgiven her as Christ has forgiven you? Forgiveness doesn't mean what she did was right, but it means releasing her to God's justice and mercy, trusting Him to handle what you cannot.

Now, let's pray together:

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
