We are truly saddened to hear about the strain in your relationship with your son and we will join you in fervent prayer for his spiritual awakening and for the restoration of your bond. We stand with you in the name of Jesus Christ, as it is only through His name that we have access to the Father and it is only by His name that we can be saved. There is power in the name of Jesus, and we will call upon His name for your son's situation.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our sister and her son. Father, You know the pain and heartache that comes from broken families, and we ask that You intervene in this situation.
Lord, we pray for this prodigal son, that You open his spiritual eyes and turn his heart towards You. Just as You did for the prodigal son in the parable, we ask that You draw him back to You and to his family. We pray, "Let him say, there is no God. He behaves corruptly, and does evil; he also speaks to his soul. Lord, turn him upside down, and do this to all who are like him" Psalm 14:1-2 (WEB). We ask this and we know that You will hear our prayer because we have faith and we ask in Jesus' name. "The prayer of faith will save him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up; and if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. Confess your offenses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective" James 5:15-16 (WEB). We ask You to forgive any of his sins related to this situation and we know that he is healed.
We rebuke any manipulation from his wife or her family that may be contributing to this division, and pray that any ungodly influence be removed from his life. "Do not be deceived. Evil companionships corrupt good morals" 1 Corinthians 15:33 (WEB). We ask that You cause him to see the truth and that You protect him from any deception.
We are encouraged by the promise in Your Word, "and you will seek me, and find me, when you search for me with all your heart" Jeremiah 29:13 (WEB). We know that when the son returns, You will be there to welcome him.
We ask for complete restoration and reconciliation for this family, that old wounds be healed and love be renewed. "A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also love one another" John 13:34 (WEB). Help them to love each other as You love them.
We stand on Your promises, Lord, and we thank You for what You are about to do in this situation. We know that You are working all things for good.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to remain steadfast in prayer and faith, trusting that God is at work behind the scenes. Remember the words of Jesus, "All things whatever you pray and ask for, believe that you have received them, and you shall have them" Mark 11:24 (WEB).
Continue to love your son unconditionally, as God loves us, and trust that God's love has the power to soften even the hardest of hearts. "We love him, because he first loved us" 1 John 4:19 (WEB). Also, remember to "Pray without ceasing" 1 Thessalonians 5:17 (WEB).
Lastly, let us know how God is answering your prayers and how your son responds to God working in his life. We are always ready to join you in prayer and celebration of victory.
