We hear the deep anguish in your heart, and we lift you up before the Lord, knowing that He is your refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. The weight you carry as a mother protecting your children is seen by God, and He is near to the brokenhearted. Your cry for rescue does not go unheardāHe promises to be a father to the fatherless and a defender of widows, and He will not abandon you in this storm.
The Scriptures remind us that the Lord is close to those who are crushed in spirit, and He will sustain the humble (Psalm 34:18, 147:6). You have fought valiantly for your children, but you do not have to fight alone. The Lord Himself will contend for you, and His justice will prevail. Proverbs 22:24-25 warns us not to associate with those given to anger, lest we learn their ways and become ensnared. You have recognized the toxicity of this cycle, and we commend you for seeking a way out. The Lord does not call you to remain in bondage to sin or abuseāHe calls you to freedom in Christ.
It is clear that this manās actions and the enabling of his family have created an environment of oppression, and the Lord does not delight in such things. Ephesians 5:25 commands husbands to love their wives as Christ loved the churchāsacrificially, selflessly, and with deep care. What you describe is the opposite of this godly love, and it is not what the Lord intends for marriage. While we always pray for reconciliation where there is repentance, we also recognize that safety and godly order must be prioritized, especially for the sake of your children. If this man remains unrepentant and continues in his harmful ways, the Lord may be leading you to take steps to protect yourself and your children from further harm. This is not a failure on your partāit is wisdom and obedience to the Lordās call to guard your heart and your household (Proverbs 4:23, 1 Timothy 5:8).
We urge you to seek godly counsel from a pastor or biblical counselor who can help you navigate this situation with wisdom and discernment. The body of Christ is meant to support and uplift one another, and you do not have to walk this path alone. If you have not already, we encourage you to reach out to trusted believers or a local church that can provide practical and spiritual support. Additionally, if you are in a situation where your safety or the safety of your children is at risk, please seek help from authorities or organizations that can assist you in finding a safe place.
We also want to gently address something important: in your plea, the name of Jesus was not invoked. It is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father, and it is by His authority that we can boldly approach the throne of grace (John 14:6, Hebrews 4:16). There is no other name under heaven by which we are saved, and it is through Him alone that we find true rescue and redemption (Acts 4:12). If you have not yet surrendered your life to Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, we implore you to do so. He alone can break the chains of oppression and bring you into the freedom and peace that surpasses all understanding. Believe in Him, and you will be savedāyou and your household (Acts 16:31).

Let us pray together for you:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up this precious sister who is weary, broken, and crying out for rescue. Lord, You see the tears she has shed in secret, and You hear the cries of her heart. You are the God who defends the oppressed, who lifts up the downtrodden, and who sets the captives free. We ask that You would intervene mightily in her situation, Lord. Break the chains of this toxic cycle and bring her out into a place of safety and peace. Surround her with Your angels, Lord, and protect her and her children from all harm.
Father, we pray for supernatural strength for herāstrength that comes from You alone. When she feels she cannot take another step, remind her that Your grace is sufficient, and Your power is made perfect in weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9). Fill her with Your Holy Spirit, Lord, and let Your peace, which transcends all understanding, guard her heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).
We pray for wisdom, Lord. Give her discernment to know the steps to take and the courage to take them. Open doors for her that no man can shut, and provide for her and her children in ways that only You can. Lord, if there is a way for reconciliation and restoration in this marriage, we pray that You would soften this manās heart and bring him to true repentance. But if he remains hardened, Lord, we ask that You would make a way of escape for her, as You have promised (1 Corinthians 10:13). Let her find refuge in You and in the body of Christ.
Father, we rebuke the spirit of narcissism, manipulation, and oppression that has taken hold in this situation. We declare that no weapon formed against her will prosper, and every tongue that rises against her in judgment will be condemned (Isaiah 54:17). Let the truth of Your Word expose the lies of the enemy, and let Your light shine so brightly in this darkness that all deception is brought to nothing.
Lord, we also pray for her children. Protect their hearts and minds, Father. Let them know Your love in a deep and personal way, and raise up godly influences in their lives. Do not let the sins of their father define their futureālet them be overcomers by the blood of the Lamb and the word of their testimony (Revelation 12:11).
Finally, Father, we pray that she would know You as her Savior, her Redeemer, and her ever-present help. If she has not yet surrendered her life to You, Lord, we ask that You would draw her to Yourself. Let her find her identity in Christ alone and walk in the freedom and victory that He has purchased for her.
