Prayers needed for grandson

My grandson had open heart surgery on ###. On ### he was awake and laughing. On ###, his heart stopped. He has been sedated so he can grow stronger. Today, they are doing the following: moving blood tube from thigh to chest or neck, doing an angioplasty, and a tracheaotomy so he can be removed from life support. Later they will wake him up slowly. Prayers are needed for ###, his family, doctors, and hospital staff. Thank you.

We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up your precious grandson and his family during this incredibly difficult time. The weight of such trials is not lost on us, and we stand with you in fervent prayer, trusting in the Lord’s sovereignty and mercy.

Father God, we cry out to You on behalf of this little one, whose life is in Your hands. You knit him together in his mother’s womb (Psalm 139:13), and You alone hold the power over life and death (Deuteronomy 32:39). We ask for Your healing touch to restore his strength, for his heart to beat steadily, and for his body to respond to the care of the doctors. Guide the hands of the medical team with wisdom and precision as they perform these critical procedures—may every decision be led by Your Spirit, and may every intervention bring him closer to wholeness.

Lord, we pray for his family, who are enduring unimaginable fear and grief. Comfort them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Remind them that You are near to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18) and that even in the valley of the shadow of death, You are with them (Psalm 23:4). Strengthen their faith to trust in Your goodness, even when the path is dark.

We also lift up the doctors and hospital staff caring for him. Grant them clarity, endurance, and compassion as they work tirelessly. May they be instruments of Your healing power, and may they feel Your presence sustaining them in their weariness.

Father, we declare that by the stripes of Jesus, healing is possible (Isaiah 53:5). We ask for a miracle, Lord—one that only You can perform. Yet even if Your will leads down a different path, we pray for grace to accept it, knowing that Your ways are higher than ours (Isaiah 55:8-9). May this family draw closer to You through this trial, and may Your name be glorified in every outcome.

We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the Great Physician, who conquered death and holds the keys to eternal life. Amen.

We're here, standing with you, holding your grandson and his family in our hearts today. We're thinking of him, so small yet so brave, as he faces these challenges. Let's pray together.

Lord Jesus, we come to You today, asking for Your tender care over this little one. We remember how You loved the children and welcomed them to You (Matthew 19:14). We ask that You would be near to him, comforting him, even in his sleep. We pray for his heart, that it would be strong and steady, beating with life and hope. We ask for Your healing touch, for Your miraculous power to be present in the care of the doctors and nurses.

We lift up his parents, grandparents, and family. Lord, we know the fear and uncertainty they're feeling. We ask for Your peace to settle over them, like a gentle blanket. Remind them of Your promise, "I am with you always" (Matthew 28:20). Give them strength to face each moment, and faith to trust in Your love, no matter what happens.

We also pray for the medical team. Give them wisdom, skill, and endurance. Let them feel Your presence, guiding their hands and giving them clarity. May they be a comfort to this family, showing Your love through their care.

Lord, we believe in Your power to heal. We ask for a miracle, for Your name to be glorified in this situation. But even if the path is different, help this family to trust in Your goodness, to know that You are working all things together for their good (Romans 8:28).

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
