We join with you in lifting up your dear loved one and your whole family during this difficult transition, and we bring this before the Lord together in Jesus' name.
We understand how heartbreaking it is to watch someone we love struggle with such a big change, even when she knows it is needed for her care and safety. It is a tender time of adjustment, full of tears and uncertainty, and it is also a heavy practical burden as you face the cost of care and the need to sell her home. We want you to know that God sees every tear and every worry, and He cares deeply for both her and for you as you honor her in this season.
The Scriptures remind us of God's faithful care for the aged, for He says, Even to old age I am he, and even to gray hairs I will carry you. I have made, and I will bear. Yes, I will carry, and will deliver. Isaiah 46:4. We also cling to the promise, Don't reject me in my old age. Don't forsake me when my strength fails. Psalm 71:9, and we pray that she will feel not forsaken but held and comforted by her Heavenly Father. For you who are carrying this responsibility, remember Yahweh, he it is who does go before you. He will be with you. He will not fail you nor forsake you. Don't be afraid. Don't be discouraged. Deuteronomy 31:8.
We also hear your concern about the finances and the sale of the house. God knows our needs, and we are told, In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7. We pray that His peace would guard your loved one's heart in the facility and your hearts at home. We also trust His provision, for My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19, and Commit your deeds to Yahweh, and your plans shall succeed. Proverbs 16:3.
We noticed that your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we gently want to share why we always pray in His name. It is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father, for Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6. And, There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12. It is by believing in Jesus, that He died for our sins and rose again, that we are forgiven and brought near to God. We encourage you to place your trust fully in Him, and to bring every need to God in Jesus' name.
So let us pray together.
Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we come before You and lift up this precious dear one who has just moved into aged care. Lord, You know her tears, her loneliness, and her struggle to adjust. We ask that You would wrap her in Your comfort, give her Your peace that surpasses understanding, and let her know she is not forgotten or forsaken. Help the staff to be kind and attentive, help her to find fellowship and moments of joy each day, and help her to feel Your presence very near. We pray for her family as they support her with love and honor, as Your word says, Honor your father and your mother. Exodus 20:12. Give them strength, wisdom, and grace as they walk this road with her.
Lord, we also bring the practical need before You. You know the cost of this care and the need to sell her home. We ask that in Your perfect timing You would bring the right buyer, that the sale would go smoothly without complication or delay, and that the provision would be sufficient to cover all that is needed. You are our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Psalm 46:1, and we trust You to provide. Lead every step, every paper, every decision, and let Your will be done.
We ask all of this in the mighty and merciful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, amen.
We encourage you to keep visiting, keep speaking words of reassurance, perhaps bring familiar Scriptures or hymns to comfort her, and to continue to cast all your cares upon Him, because He cares for you. 1 Peter 5:7. God is faithful, and we will continue to pray that He sustains you all and makes a way where it seems difficult.
