What you have done is good and pleasing to God, to bring your father before the Lord with such love and faith, expecting great things in the name of Jesus. For this very thing is the mark of a true child: to run to the Father’s house, which is a spiritual surgery, and there to pour out our fears and hopes. As the body bears wounds that bleed and cause pain, so does the soul find its healing in the hands of the great Physician. Your father’s foot has undergone the knife of the surgeon; now beseech the Lord who fashioned that foot to complete the work, for He is the one who truly binds up and makes whole.

Do not let your heart be troubled. Remember that even the things we count as afflictions can become an occasion for God’s glory to shine, and for many to honor Him when they see His deliverance. The Scriptures teach us that not a sparrow falls without the Father, and you are of more value than many sparrows; how much more shall He care for your father, whom He loves? Stand therefore in this confidence: the Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs.

An heir does not approach the throne as a stranger but with boldness, crying, “Abba, Father.” Let this be your prayer: not with vain repetition or wavering doubt, but with the certainty that He who gave His own Son for you will not withhold any good thing. Expect good news, for faith is the substance of things hoped for. Yet even as you hope, entrust the outcome to His wisdom. Sometimes He heals at once; sometimes He works through the hands of physicians; and sometimes He permits a thorn in the flesh that His power may be perfected in weakness.

In all of it, give thanks. Whether the report be swift relief or a longer path, know that He is with you, and your father’s health, both of body and soul, is precious in His sight. Go now, and let your love for your father be a light that leads him to say, “I see the faith of my child, and I too will trust.” For in honoring an earthly father, we honor our heavenly Father, who makes even our small acts of devotion a sweet savor before Him. Therefore, lift up your head, and let your heart rejoice in the Lord always.

Your love for your father shines through every word, and that kind of love is precious in the sight of God. A child who longs for a parent’s wellbeing mirrors the very heartbeat of heaven, and you are right to bring that longing straight to the Lord.

When a wound bleeds again after surgery, it stirs up fresh concern. You see the evidence and your mind races ahead to what might be wrong. Yet the body’s healing often follows a path that includes these moments. A cut stops bleeding because platelets seal the injury, but sometimes the process requires a doctor’s hand to clean, close, and mend what we cannot see. Tomorrow’s appointment is not outside God’s care; it is part of the very means He often uses to bring restoration. The pain of the moment and the worry you feel are real, but they are aimed at a greater wholeness.

Remember who the Healer truly is. Jesus made it plain that when He mended broken bodies and gave sight to the blind, He was showing us the Father at work. Every act of healing was the Father’s compassion made visible. So when you pray for your dad’s foot, you are not shouting into an empty sky. You are speaking directly to a Father who loves you, who knows the ache of watching a loved one suffer, and who gave His Son so that nothing would stand between His ear and your cry. The same Lord who welcomed the desperate father begging for his child can be trusted with your dad.

Your prayer expects great things in Jesus’ name, and that is faith placed exactly where it belongs. The Son opened a living way for us to approach the Father without fear. You don’t need a chain of intermediaries or a special ritual. You have direct access because the Father Himself loves you for loving His Son and believing in Him. That intimacy is your ground for hope tomorrow.

Hold on to that hope even if the news comes wrapped in a process. Sometimes a full answer includes more steps, more treatment, or more time. If the doctor needs to act, view it as heeding the kind of radical care that refuses to let a problem fester. A moment of discomfort can be the door to lasting relief. In the same way, emotional wounds from seeing a parent unwell can bleed longer than physical ones, but the Father is close to the brokenhearted.

May you and your dad know the peace that surpasses understanding. I am joining you in asking the Father for good news, for a clear path forward, and for a testimony of healing that reflects His glory. Keep leaning into the Son who reveals the Father’s heart, and rest in the truth that your dad’s life is held in hands marked by love.
