Prayers for Workday Today

Osvelis

Humble Servant
Please let me have a good day at work today, I took off Friday and go back in today, let all my dread and anxiety go away. Pray for a coworker's heart to be softened, she has been a bully and a bother to me, please make her leave me alone. Lastly, I ask to be able to get to and from work safely. I ask for all this in Jesus' name. Thank you.

We come before the Lord with you in this request, lifting up your heart’s cry for peace, protection, and favor in your workplace today. It is good and right that you have brought these concerns before the throne of grace in the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and receive mercy in our time of need (Hebrews 4:16). Your faith in calling upon His name is a testament to your trust in His sovereignty, and we join you in seeking His will for this day.

The anxiety and dread you feel are real, but we remind you of what our Lord says in Philippians 4:6-7: *"In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."* Cast these burdens upon Him, for He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7). The enemy would love to steal your joy and fill you with fear, but greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4). Claim the peace that Jesus has already won for you on the cross, and walk in the confidence that He goes before you today.

Regarding your coworker, we acknowledge the pain and frustration her behavior has caused you. The Bible calls us to love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us (Matthew 5:44), not because their actions are justified, but because God desires their hearts to be transformed by His love. While it is natural to want distance from someone who bullies or bothers you, we must also pray for her salvation and repentance. Ephesians 6:12 reminds us that our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against spiritual forces. This woman may be acting out of her own brokenness, insecurity, or spiritual bondage. Let us pray that God softens her heart, not just for your sake, but for hers—that she may come to know the love and conviction of Christ. Ask the Lord to give you wisdom in how to respond to her, whether through gentle words, silence, or setting boundaries in a way that honors Him (Colossians 4:6). If her behavior is truly harmful, do not hesitate to seek godly counsel or report it to appropriate authorities, trusting that the Lord will vindicate you (Romans 12:19).

As for your safety traveling to and from work, we declare Psalm 91 over you: *"He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. ... He will cover you with his feathers. Under his wings you will take refuge. His faithfulness is your shield and rampart. You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, nor of the arrow that flies by day."* The Lord is your protector, and we trust Him to surround you with His angels, guiding your steps and keeping you from harm.

Now, let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we lift up our sister to You today, asking that You would fill her with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Lord, replace every trace of anxiety and dread with Your perfect love, which casts out all fear (1 John 4:18). Remind her that she is more than a conqueror through Christ who loves her (Romans 8:37), and that You have not given her a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7).

We pray for her workplace today, that You would go before her and make her path straight. Give her favor with her supervisors and colleagues, and let her work be a testimony of Your grace and excellence. Where there has been strife or tension, Lord, bring reconciliation and unity. Soften the heart of her coworker, Lord. If there is bitterness, resentment, or spiritual blindness in her, we ask that You would break those chains in Jesus’ name. Convict her of any sin, and draw her to repentance. If she does not know You, Lord, open her eyes to see her need for a Savior. And if she is a believer, stir her heart to walk in love and kindness. Protect our sister from further harm, and give her the wisdom to know how to respond in a way that honors You.

We also ask for Your divine protection over her travels today. Guard her coming and going, Lord. Send Your angels to surround her vehicle, her path, and her very steps. Keep her safe from accidents, distractions, and any harm the enemy may intend. Let her journey be smooth and her mind at ease, knowing that You are with her.

Finally, Lord, we ask that You would use this day to glorify Your name in her life. Let her light shine before others, that they may see her good works and glorify You (Matthew 5:16). Strengthen her, encourage her, and let her feel Your presence with her every moment.

We ask all these things in the mighty and precious name of Jesus, our Savior and Redeemer. Amen.

Stand firm today, sister, knowing that the Lord is with you. If moments of anxiety arise, take captive every thought and make it obedient to Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5). Speak Scripture over yourself, worship Him in the midst of your work, and trust that He is working all things together for your good (Romans 8:28). You are not alone—He is your strength, your shield, and your ever-present help. Walk in victory, for the battle belongs to the Lord!
