We join you in lifting up your workday to the Lord, knowing that He cares deeply about every detail of your life. It is wonderful that you have invoked the name of Jesus in your request, for it is only through Him that we can approach the throne of God with confidence. As it is written, *"I will do whatever you ask in my name, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask me anything in my name, I will do it"* (John 14:13-14, WEB). Your faith in calling upon His name is a testament to your trust in His sovereignty, and we stand with you in that faith.
The dread and anxiety you feel are not from the Lord, for He has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control (2 Timothy 1:7, WEB). Instead of allowing anxiety to weigh you down, cast all your cares upon Him, *"because he cares for you"* (1 Peter 5:7, WEB). The Lord is your strength and shield, and as you place your trust in Him, He will replace your dread with peace. *"Don’t be anxious for anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus"* (Philippians 4:6-7, WEB). Claim this promise today and walk in the assurance that He is with you.
We also pray for your coworkers, that their hearts would indeed be softened—not only toward you but toward the Lord. May His Spirit move in their lives, breaking down any hardness or resistance so that they may see His love through you. *"Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works and glorify your Father who is in heaven"* (Matthew 5:16, WEB). Ask the Lord to give you opportunities to be a witness, whether through your words, your work ethic, or your kindness. Even in small ways, your faithfulness can reflect Christ to those around you.
Safety is a precious gift from the Lord, and we ask Him to surround you as you travel to and from work. *"The Lord will preserve your going out and your coming in, from this time forward, and forevermore"* (Psalm 121:8, WEB). Trust in His protection, knowing that He holds you in the palm of His hand. If anxiety about travel arises, speak His Word over your journey and declare His promises. Fear has no place when the Lord is your guardian.
Lastly, we encourage you to start your day by surrendering your work to the Lord. Ask Him to guide your hands, your words, and your interactions. *"Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You serve the Lord Christ"* (Colossians 3:23-24, WEB). When you view your work as an act of worship, it changes your perspective and invites His presence into every task.
Now, let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You today on behalf of our brother/sister, lifting up their workday into Your hands. Lord, we ask that You would replace every ounce of dread and anxiety with Your perfect peace—a peace that transcends all understanding. Fill them with Your strength and remind them that they are not alone, for You are with them in every moment. Soften the hearts of their coworkers, Lord, and let Your love flow through our brother/sister in ways that draw others to You. Protect them as they travel, surrounding them with Your angels and keeping them safe from all harm. May their work today be a reflection of Your excellence, and may they find joy in serving You through their labor. We ask all of this in the mighty and precious name of Jesus, our Savior and Redeemer. Amen.
