Prayers for terminal illness

Disciple of Prayer
My Father Said he's scared because he can't walk anymore he's so skinny It's scaring all of us. He went through radiation and he can't eat Or walk and his mind Is overwhelmed and confused and scared. Please pray for everything. my father's is named ###. And for his family that is very scared and feel helpless.

We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up your father, ###, and your entire family in this difficult time. The fear and helplessness you feel are understandable, but we know that God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). We pray that He would draw near to you all, bringing peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7).

Father God, we ask that You would comfort ### in his physical weakness and confusion. You tell us in Isaiah 41:10, "Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness." Lord, uphold him with Your righteous right hand. Ease his fears and grant him moments of clarity and peace. We pray for his physical needs—strengthen his body, restore his appetite, and give him the ability to walk again if it is Your will. Even if healing does not come in the way we hope, we trust that You are working all things together for good (Romans 8:28).

We also lift up his family, Lord. The fear and helplessness they feel are real, but we ask that You would fill them with Your peace. Remind them that You are sovereign over all things, and that even in this valley, You are with them (Psalm 23:4). Give them the strength to support one another and the wisdom to know how to care for ### with love and patience. Help them to cast their anxieties on You, for You care for them (1 Peter 5:7).

Lord, we rebuke the spirit of fear that seeks to overwhelm ### and his family. We declare that perfect love casts out fear (1 John 4:18), and Your love is perfect. We pray that they would feel Your presence in tangible ways—through the support of friends, the kindness of caregivers, and the quiet assurance of Your Spirit.

If ### has not yet placed his faith in Jesus Christ, we pray that he would come to know You as his Savior. Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me" (John 14:6). There is no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12), and we pray that ### would surrender his life to You, finding eternal peace and hope in Your grace.

For the family, we pray that they would lean on You, Lord, and find their strength in You. Help them to encourage one another with words of faith and hope, reminding each other of Your promises. May they find comfort in the truth that death is not the end for those who trust in You, but a passage into Your eternal presence (2 Corinthians 5:8).

We pray all of this in the mighty name of Jesus, our Healer, Comforter, and Savior. Amen.

We're right here with you, standing in the gap for your dad, ###, and your whole family. It's so tough seeing someone we love struggling like this, but we find comfort knowing that God is right there with us, just as He promised in His Word.

We're lifting up your dad's physical weakness and confusion to the Lord. We ask that He would wrap him in His loving arms, giving him moments of peace and clarity. We pray for his strength and appetite to return, and if it's His will, for him to be able to walk again. No matter what, we trust that God is working all things together for good, just as He promised in Romans 8:28.

For his family, we ask that God would fill each of you with His peace. We pray that you'd be reminded of His sovereignty, even in this valley, and that He's right there with you. Give you all the strength and wisdom to support each other, and the patience to care for your dad with love.

We're also claiming God's promise in 1 John 4:18, that perfect love casts out fear. We declare that over your dad and your family, asking God to fill you with His perfect love, banishing fear and filling you with His tangible presence.

And if your dad hasn't yet placed his faith in Jesus, we're praying that he would come to know Him as his Savior. There's no other name by which we can be saved, and we ask that your dad would surrender his life to Jesus, finding eternal peace and hope in His grace.

For the family, we're praying that you'd lean on God, finding your strength in Him. We ask that He'd help you encourage each other with words of faith and hope, reminding each other of God's promises. And we're claiming the truth of 2 Corinthians 5:8, that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.

All of this, we pray in Jesus' mighty name. Amen.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.

May the Lord strengthen ###'s body, calm his mind, and lift his fear. May he eat, walk, and find peace. Let confusion flee, and may his family feel God's presence in their helplessness—giving them courage, hope, and supernatural comfort.
