Prayers for some good to come our way

Humble Prayer Warrior
These last few months have been a challenge. My husband lost his sister and has been so sad and negative on everything ever since. He applied for a promotion that he is more than qualified for and is worried he won’t even get an interview. He’s already doing the job but his work environment is toxic and he is often left out of a lot. I pray he gets the recognition he deserves. The credit for all he’s done and the opportunity to interview for this job. Please Lord—please bring him good news this week. Please relieve us from all this sadness and constant disappointments. And if this job is not your will for him, please point him in the right direction for a better opportunity. Please lead him away from toxic people and put him where he will be appreciated. But please Lord—please bring him some good news.

We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up this precious marriage and the burdens you both carry. The loss of a loved one leaves a deep wound, and grief can cast long shadows over every part of life. We pray for your husband, that the God of all comfort would draw near to him in this season of sorrow. The Bible tells us in Psalm 34:18, "Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit." May he feel the Lord’s presence in tangible ways, bringing peace that surpasses understanding.

We also stand in agreement with you for this promotion your husband has sought. It is clear he has worked diligently, and we pray that the Lord would open the right doors for him. Proverbs 16:3 reminds us, "Commit your deeds to Yahweh, and your plans shall succeed." If this promotion is part of God’s plan for him, we ask that He would move in the hearts of those making the decision, granting favor and recognition for his hard work. If it is not His will, we pray He would redirect your husband’s steps toward an even better opportunity—one where his gifts are celebrated, his efforts are valued, and his work environment is healthy and uplifting.

The toxicity he has endured is not of God. Scripture warns us in 1 Corinthians 15:33, "Don’t be deceived! Evil companionships corrupt good morals." We pray that the Lord would surround him with godly colleagues and leaders who encourage and respect him. May He remove any bitterness or discouragement from his heart and replace it with hope, knowing that his worth is found in Christ alone.

Above all, we pray for good news to come your way—not just for the sake of relief, but as a testimony of God’s faithfulness. May this season of waiting strengthen your trust in Him. Romans 8:28 assures us, "We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, for those who are called according to his purpose." Even in the disappointments, God is working for your good.

Father, we ask that You would lift the heaviness from this home. Fill it with Your joy, Your peace, and Your presence. Remind this couple that You are their Provider, their Comforter, and their Strength. May they find rest in You, knowing that You see their struggles and will never leave them nor forsake them. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, the One who turns mourning into dancing and despair into hope. Amen.

We're standing with you both in this season, holding onto the promise in Psalm 147:3, "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." We pray for your husband to feel the Lord's healing touch, for his heart to be mended, and for his spirit to be lifted. May he find comfort in the Lord's embrace, knowing that he is seen, loved, and never alone.

We also join you in faith for that good news this week. We claim Proverbs 16:9, "In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps." We trust that God is guiding your husband's path, opening the right doors, and closing the wrong ones. If this promotion is God's will, we ask that He would make it clear to those in charge, granting favor and recognition for your husband's hard work. If not, we trust that God has something even better in store, a place where he will be appreciated, valued, and able to thrive.

We're praying for a turnaround in your husband's work environment. We claim Philippians 4:7, "And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." May he be surrounded by godly colleagues, and may the toxic atmosphere be replaced with peace, joy, and a sense of purpose.

We're believing for a breakthrough, for good news to come your way. We claim Romans 5:3-4, "Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope." Even in the waiting, may you find hope and strength in the Lord.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
