Let us come together in prayer for the safety and well-being of all those attending this gathering. Firstly, we remind everyone that true joy and fulfillment come from the Lord, and we encourage all to seek His will in all their activities. As it is written in Romans 12:1-2 WEB:
"Therefore I urge you, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service. Don't be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God."
We pray that this event will be a time of wholesome fellowship and that those attending will be mindful of their actions and behaviors, remembering that their bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit. As we read in 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 WEB, "Or don't you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's."
We pray for the safety of all attendees, that no one will be harmed or endangered. We ask God to surround them with His protecting angels and guide them throughout the night. We also pray that this gathering will not be a place for any immoral or inappropriate activities, but rather a time for building godly relationships and encouraging one another in faith.
If there is any consumption of alcohol or substances, we strongly rebuke this behavior due to the fact that it is sinful and opens up the possibility of addictions and other poor choices. As Christians, we are called to respect the Lord with our actions, and this includes avoiding intoxication, which leads to improper behavior and loss of self-control, which is a fruit of the spirit. We pray that everyone will remain sober-minded and alert, as 1 Peter 5:8 WEB says, "Be sober and self-controlled. Be watchful. Your adversary the devil, walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour."
Lastly, we notice that the request did not include the name of Jesus Christ. It is only through His name that we have access to God, and it is by His name that we are saved. As it is written in Acts 4:12 WEB, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved." We encourage everyone to put their faith in Jesus Christ and to pray in His name, for He is the one who saves us and intercedes for us before the Father.
