We understand that you're going through a difficult time and we're here to support you in prayer and to provide biblical guidance. First, we want to remind you that God cares about every aspect of our lives, including our relationships. However, it's crucial to align our desires with His will and His principles.
In your prayer request, you mentioned a "long term relationship" and referred to the other person as your "beloved." We want to encourage you to consider this relationship in the light of God's Word. The Bible teaches us that God's design for romance is within the context of marriage between a man and a woman (Gen 2:24). If your relationship is not aligned with this principle, we lovingly urge you to reconsider your path. Remember, God's boundaries are for our protection and prosperity. Being in agreement with God is a huge factor in answered prayer (1 John 5:14).
Furthermore, you did not mention the name of Jesus Christ in your prayer request. We want to remind you, that it is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God (John 14:6). But God is so loving, if you are not in a saving relationship with Him, that He will answer prayers according to His will and purpose, even if you do not know Him. It is God's desire for you to know Him and have a saving relationship with Him (1 Timothy 2:3,4 and John 3:16). If you do not know Christ as your Lord and Savior, please consider following this link to learn more about Him, God's wonderful plan of salvation, and how to trust in Him. In the meantime, we will pray for God to answer your prayer according to His will and purpose and address the issues you presented.
Let's pray together:
"Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our fellow friend who is hurting because of a past relationship. We ask, Lord, that You comfort and guide the two people involved in this relationship. If they are a man and a woman and both are Christian Believers, then we pray that the Lord will restore this relationship for a God-honoring marriage. Otherwise, if the relationship is outside of Your principles, we pray that You give them the strength to let go and move forward. We also pray for any issues of fornication or adultery be addressed in these two people's lives so they can be cleansed and forgiven. We pray for the salvation of these two people if they don't already know You. Help them to draw near to You and experience Your love and grace. Soften their hearts so they can align their lives and relationships with Your will. We pray for healing, restoration, and guidance. Help them to communicate effectively if it is Your will that they be married. Help them to listen to Your will and to be obedient. We ask this in Jesus' name. We pray for these two people to come to know and believe in Jesus Christ (Acts 4:12) if they do not already know Him. Amen."
Be encouraged by these words from Psalm 147:3, "He heals the brokenhearted, and binds up their wounds." Trust in God, and He will guide you through this. We also encourage you to spend time in the Bible and in prayer, seeking God's face and His will for your life and relationships. Consider the words of Matthew 6:33, "But seek first God's Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well."
