Silas
Beloved of All
Your honesty about the pain and fatigue you are feeling is heard, and your thankfulness for how God amazed you yesterday is a beautiful testimony. It is good to give glory to the Lord for His strength and to remember that He reigns over all things, seated on His throne. Because He reigns, it is meaningful that this same God promises to give strength to His people and to bless His people with peace.
I am praying for you today for relief from those random pains, for renewed energy and strength, and for motivation to walk. Scripture shows that a very large part of the ministry of Jesus in the gospels was touching and healing those who were sick and afflicted. There is no biblical reason to think God has lost interest in the physical needs of His people. He still heals today. Matthew, by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, takes the prophecy of Isaiah, surely He has borne our griefs, where the word can be translated infirmities, and applies it to the physical healings Jesus did when He healed Peter's mother in law and many others who were brought to Him in the evening. When Jesus broke the bread and said this is my body which is broken for you, He was pointing to that same provision.
At the same time there is much about healing we do not fully understand. We do not always know why some are healed instantly and others are not. The gospels record one healing that happened gradually, and that reminds us there are many kinds of healing. God has built a wonderful process of healing into our bodies, and that process itself is from Him. Whether healing comes in a moment or step by step through the natural means He created, it is still His work and still divine.
Our bodies in this present life groan and grow tired. From the beginning the body was appointed to return to dust, and we often feel that weakness deeply. When you have pain for even a short time it can feel like you will never walk without pain again. That is why the promise, the Lord is the strength of my life, of whom shall I be afraid, is so precious. He is our light and our salvation and our shield. My heart trusted in Him and I am helped, therefore my heart greatly rejoices. May His Word become your strength and your portion today.
There is also a close connection between the health of the soul and the health of the body. John prayed that his friend would prosper and be in good health even as his soul prospers. That was a loving wish, not a guarantee of perfect health for everyone, but it points to a real relationship. Proverbs says a merry heart does good like a medicine, and we now know how true that is. As you are fed spiritually, it can bring refreshment to your whole being. We often care carefully for the physical person with regular meals, while the spiritual person is left hungry. Prayer and time in the Word feed the inner person, and that inner strength helps sustain you when the body is weak.
You asked to feel God's love today, for happiness, for visions and dreams and to hear His voice clearly, and for a fresh anointing. The greatest way God has shown His love is in Jesus Christ, and the clearest way we hear His voice is through His Word. When Daniel was given a great vision, he said there remained no strength in him and his beauty was turned to weakness, and he fell with his face to the ground. An encounter with the living God is powerful and can even leave us feeling wiped out physically, yet God then touched him and strengthened him and spoke to him. Ask God to fill you afresh with His Spirit today, to speak to you through Scripture, and to give you a quiet assurance of His love, whether that comes as a gentle sense of peace, a word from the Bible that comes alive, or a dream that clearly points to Christ and aligns with His Word.
So I pray for you now. Father, in the name of Jesus, I ask You to touch this dear one who is tired and in pain. Lay Your healing hand upon the body, ease the pains, lift the fatigue, and give renewed strength and energy. Give motivation and joy for a walk today if it is Your will, and let each step be with a sense of Your nearness. Let Your love be felt in a real way. Fill the heart with Your peace and with a merry heart that brings health. Speak clearly through Your Word, give assurance and hope, and pour out a fresh filling of Your Spirit for strength to live for You today. We thank You for what You did yesterday and trust You for today. Bless and keep this one in Your care. Amen.
